There are articles from as far back as 2018 on their watches. Has it taken this long for them to come to market, or are these new generations?

They did work on the watch a couple of years and introduced it to the press several times. However it was released earlier this year to the public.

Great video. Price not even up on the Leica site. Might be fab watch but could be £10k. Without the price impossible to compare with say a GS. I think so unusual then a must from a high end collector's perspective or a high end Leica camera owner who wan't to be on brand.

Thanks for your comment. The watches are being produced in small quantities and from what I can tell most of them are already allocated. I do understand however that the price is an important part so here are the offical prices. L1 9500€ L2 13500€ ✌🏻

Beautiful, but too bulky. 41mm is ok for a dive or pilot watch, but not this. Thickness is too much also.

I would do some seriously irresponsible things to have one of these on my wrist. The L2 is my preference, unfortunately it costs $14,000. That's what I spent on my first Rolex bro... I mean fuuuuuck ... 😵- 🤑

they really did a great job on the watches. The quality is great and I really like the patented pusher function. The L2 is a great choice 😉.

Leica just doing what they are good at :) They are going back to their mechanical engineering origin

They aren't doing any of the engineering or manufacturing, that's being done by a real watchmaker.

Only a small problem..... The price!

Price is definitely always an important factor. nevertheless you do get a lot of innovation and craftsmanship for the price.

@@NikolausHirsch German craftmanship is superb, i got a Sinn UX and Damasko DA 47 so yes, but €12000 is still a lot of money.

It's Leica......so you already know it's insanely over priced

Uh..., you realise that your royal oak has a quickset position on the crown right?
@NikolausHirsch

Mine actually does not. I have an older model from the 90's and there is only on function besides setting the time with the crown and thats a quickset for the moonphase 😂.

It's not a manufacture movement. It's exclusive to Leica but everything is made by a contracted watchmaker.

@@NikolausHirsch Its a company called Lehmann if you are interested. Surprisingly, the movement in the Leica watches aren't based on existing Lehman movements but seem to have been designed bespoke for Leica.

Pretty sure I can look outside to determine if it’s day or night … Awkward watch, but … to each his own
