The community of Witrandjie village in the NW province is under siege from alleged criminal syndicates who are illegally mining chrome in their tribal land. Using heavy duty machinery and tools, the illegal mining has moved to the edge of the village just a stone throw away from the houses. This has left deep holes which are left without rehabilitation and are like open tombs which is a danger to the community and their livestock alike.
