Manufacturer: Leitz, Wetzlar (Germany)
Magnification: 7x
Objective Lens Size: 50mm
Range finding reticle: no
IR-Detector: no
Specifics: Rare and interesting piece because it has the full manufacturer name on it and also the yellow colour. That´s a bit contradictory because since 1941 all german service binoculars had a 3 letter manufacturer code on them, so this binocular should be dated 1941 or earlier. On the other hand the yellow colour was first used since 1943 under the term "Einheitstarnfarbe Europa" (unit camouflage colour Europe) for binoculars and various other equipment. So what´s the deal here? Is it a fake? I don´t think so but the question is if the yellow colour was used even before 1943 or this binocular might be re-painted later in the war or it might be even a restoration (but then a quite good one - the missing reticle would also speak for it). Tell me what you think!
