I did some security work for a company called Showsec in London. One of my first jobs was at Wembley Arena , it was 1988. Kiss were playing and I was just at the left hand side of the stage . My job for the evening was to only let people down the stairs backstage with certain passes. This bloke comes up to me, hands me a pint of beer and says to me very politely , " is there any chance I can go down the stairs" ... It was Lemmy.. I said you can do what you like mate..!!! Top fella......Respect

Man I miss Lemmy, Jeff Hanneman and Waylon Jennings. I always considered Lemmy and Waylon as the coolest front men of a band. Used to always stand on Jeff Hanneman's side of the stage at SLAYER concerts. I never got to see or meet Waylon though. I was fortunate to meet Jeff and Lemmy in St. Louis after a show and in Portland. I actually showed up really early to a Motorhead show (waiting for my crew) and nobody was there yet and the place was empty. So I went to the bar adjacent to the stage floor and sat down and ordered a bourbon on the rocks. This guy gets done playing pinball at the far dark end of the bar and sits next to me. Holy hell it's Lemmy! So we just talked and drank whiskey until he had to go prep for the concert. I didn't ask for autograph or photo. Just talked to the man. Funny thing is we were both rocking .308 bullet belts and and cowboy boots. Good times.

I remember seeing Rory Gallagher at the Marquee maybe 1980/81 and before he played his set in the back where the bar was Lemmy was playing a fruit machine. No one, not a solitary person went near him. The man looked so big and mean (am sure he was a lovely guy but what an aura he gave off). Great times!
