I've never disassembled a keyboard before, so I'm super hesitant about taking it apart. But I would really love to make it more supple, tune the stabs and add some foam. Thanks for a thorough guide.

2024-08-07 Update I have been daily driving the board for about two weeks at the time of this comment. Here are my thoughts: 1. The keyboard is fairly stiff even with the gaskets swapped out. I was a little surprised since my GMMK Pro with the FlexKit has way more flex. For context, the GMMK Pro is very stiff stock 2. Wireless connectivity is reliable. I used 2.4Ghz dongle on my console and I didn't notice any difference between wired and wireless mode. The bluetooth connectivity works. I am able to swap between work devices with ease. 3. I wish it had an extra key on the navigation cluster on the right dedicated to the 'End' key. The default map is Fn+Home which took a few days to get used to 4. The bottom out is fairly harsh with the Zaku linears. But then I realized my old daily driver has U4T Bobas which require a little more force to actuate. I am used to it now and I don't find the bottom out as harsh initially Overall, I think this a great keyboard to start with if you are a beginner for looking a CNC aluminum keyboard to mod. Of course there are cheaper options available but I have not seen many mod guides or videos talking about this keyboard.

I just got my prebuilt lemokey p1 pro this week your video couldnt have come at a better time instant sub xd Did you not change the gaskets eventually? i ve never done modding before this is my first keyboard its gonna be a dangerous adventure to open it up i m gonna especially do it coz my spacebar came in a little toooo bad stock already loosened the screw next to it so the switch can sit better and it does sound better already but your video is gonna be a lot of help when im gonna risk it for the biscuit thanks a lot !😅

I did end up changing the gaskets after the video was published. From what I can feel, it didn't make much a of significant difference to the overall feel of the board. I found it was quite stiff even after daily driving for about 2 weeks. Watch out for the antenna like I pointed out and you should be fine.

@@JustinBugayongthanks for the reply, I honestly dont understand this stiff feeling in keyboards that everyone talks about, like the keyboard is supposed to bounce a little? in any case i cant feel it and its not bothering me at all so I guess im gonna avoid changing gaskets for now

Exactly. If you look at reviews for the Bakaneko or Zoom75, you'll notice the keyboards visibly flexes as reviewers type on it. It will be more pronounced if you have a fairly heavy hand. Ultimately, the feel is based on preference as not everyone will like the bouncy feel. Once you try a couple other keyboards, you will start to notice little things like that.

question, is the barebones version like you show JUST without switches and key aps? Cuz im not into like actually modding my keyboard i just dont wanna spend more money on switches when ima replace em anyways. Thanks (and do any switches work for this keyboard or does it have to be a specific one)

Yup the barebones version does not come with switches or keycaps. I wanted different switches and keycaps when I was planning this build out. Any normal set of switches sold on most keyboard sites should work.

I have an L3 coming in tomorrow. I wonder if it’s this easy to disassemble.

Hey I apologize for the late reply. If I had to guess, the design between the L3 and P1 Pro should be fairly similar. Was the assembly as easy as you thought it was?
