I made this clutch and use it all the time as my main handbag. Being retired I don’t need any of the off to work for the day stuff. And everyone who sees it loves it. Thanks Jo.

Thank you so much. Your tutorials are terrific - I am educator for adults and can tell you your tendency to anticipate the learner's questions, compare the correct and incorrect ways of completing the instructions, and the clear video all make them terrific.

I have just completed this bag and enjoyed the challenge - I think! My Janome domestic machine does struggle with thicker seams, so this was definitely at the extreme end of its capabilities. Your instructions, both written and visual, are as always very clear. I really do need to try using my cricut machine to cut the fabric, as some pieces were definitely wonky, and I can't blame my sewing machine for that!

Dear Jo and Adam. Wow. This bag is amazing. I was awake early and it was lovely and quiet so watched your video from beginning to end. The bag looks so smart. From my point of view, as my hands ache a lot, I can prep everything and take my time over a couple of days. Your instructions are very clear. Thanks for a great pattern. I will purchase it later today.

I’ve just made my first Lemonza and so pleased to be able to follow your instructions Jo! Mine isn’t as tidy as yours, but I definitely will make it again. By the way, where does the name Lemonza come from? Is it a Cornish word? I couldn’t see any explanation on the pattern.
@CountryCowDesigns

I’m glad you like it. The name is totally made up. One of the first prototypes I made was using a fabric with lemons on it and the name came from there

Hi Jo, I have the Lemonza pattern and have been cutting out the paper part. I hope to use cork for the flap. Will I still need to use any Decovil stabiliser if using cork? Or just some non woven for the lining. What would you suggest please?
@CountryCowDesigns
Жыл бұрын
Hi Christine, I’d definitely still recommend using the Decovil. Amy, one of our testers, did a couple with cork flaps and she said she was really glad to have the Decovil in there because it needed it 😁

Hi my name is Kiva. I was hoping to ask you a couple of questions. Are you guys still happy with the Janome hd9. Or would you choose a straight stitch industrial now that you have used it for a while. I ask because I am going back and forth between the Janome hd9 and a straight stitch industrial. I own a walking foot industrial, a serger, and the brother st 150 hdh. I plan on getting a post bed and a cylinder arm and a ski icing machine. That is all in good time. I primarily use vinyl and leather. Btw… love your videos. Thank you so much to you both.
@CountryCowDesigns
Жыл бұрын
I’m still very happy with it. It’s a straight stitch machine but works great with cotton, cork and some vinyls But if you’re planing to sew mostly vinyl and leather a machine with a compound walking foot will definitely be better. Thanks 😊
@kivamahatma9817
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice. I think I will try it out. If I had more room for a second industrial machine I would totally get one. But I think it should work out perfect for me. I have the Jin/Juki Na11ut walking foot. It is the direct drive version of the 1181 but rebranded by Juki for over by India. I love it. But I wish I would have waited and got the fabricator. I was a couple hundred short. I was eager to get started. I love it but I wish it was a tiny bit slower for the ability of working with leather as a beginner. But at least it has a single stitch button. Lol… it is what it is. I’m still very happy.

Could I make this out of cork?
@CountryCowDesigns
Жыл бұрын
I haven’t made one from cork so I can’t say for sure. With cork it could be too bulky in some of the seams. You would need to be careful where you used the cork and how you combine it with cotton for the lining.
