This is the first time I've listened to this. I've known about Ms Lene since the early 80s, but never really followed her. She's really quite an amazing vocalist and musician. This song is really outstanding. I guess I have a lot of catching up to do with Lene Lovich.

I still remember seeing Lene perform this live in Detroit back in 1983 and blasting the walls! It was her birthday, too! Fantastic song, fantastic artist ❤❤❤

This is Lene Lovich's "soul song". She and Les put everything they had into this song. They didn't hold anything back. Perhaps because they thought that it might be her last song on her last album. Lene Lovich did record two more albums: "March" in 1989, and "Shadows And Dust" in 2005.

Crazy, mad, amazing track from the wicked genius Lens Lovich. Her lyrics are majestic and her story telling compelling. A simply beautiful track from No Man's Land album.

Haven't heard this song for over 35 years. I used to have the cassette tape. I played it so much it broke and couldn't buy a replacement because it is out of print. Thank you for posting and reintroducing me to my musical love --Lena Lovich. Cheers😀

Saw her in Toronto in 1980s perform at the Masonic Temple. Incredible live performer. Also plays a mean sax!

Interesting. I once saw the Bulgarian Women’s Chorus at a Masonic temple in San Antonio. Acoustics waay too reverbed out for many and most musical styles, but that pairing was magic. I digress. Lene is a goddess.

Brilliant song. I saw Lene perform her Mata Hari show in London in 1982 in at the tiny lyric Theatre in Hammersmith. She had no microphone and I vividly remember being blown away when she sang Rocky Road. Amazing! By pure chance I met her after the show and she came across as such a lovely person.

This was so good live. Boris from The Cure on drums, and Thomas Dolby on Keys. At the Dallas Agora show anyway.
