In this lecture Lennert Loos sheds light on the development methodologies and processes in design practices. Looking at different methods of visualizing the behavior of structures can deliver a better understanding and facilitate decision making during the conceptual design phase. The backbone of this lecture is based on Lennerts PhD research called: Structurally informed decision-making by means of Data Visualisations during the Conceptual Design PHase (2019). The presented methods are good alternatives for the conventional iterative design process and give a good estimate of the impact of different structural typologies. In return, they make it easier to explore the design space freely.
