Horrible start to life for lenny, super tough upbringing, bullied and beat up since being 9 or 10yrs old, and people wonder why he was percieved by a few as a bully, its all he'd ever seen, so its all he ever knew, so glad the late Mike reed told him to try acting and he got to see the good side of life for a while, before his early passing. RIP The Guv'nor .. Brilliant book, musunderstood bloke

I met Lenny just before this film was out but still in production, he was working on the door of whatever massive club it is I think near Leicester Square (I was down for a week with a mate on a work thing). My mate was a bodybuilder & through that we got chatting. He was waiting for LS to be his big break, saying how much he'd struggled over life and now he was ready "for some cream", he said that a couple of times. It was obviously he was the REAL DEAL back then, but it was only later I found out just how much.

1:08 I love Jason Flemming but why do actors present that pseudo intellectual idea about themselves? When he describes how he came up with the idea of 'going the other way' and being the character the other characters took the piss out of No This came about because the person who wrote the script wrote it word for word that the other characters would be taking the piss out of you, this was not down to some spark of creative acting genius, the character literally could not be played any other way

Why criminals are so revered, eulogised and near-worshipped is beyond me. It seems hardly a day goes by we are not bombarded with features, stories, books and films etc about yet another of these low-life scum. Yet we never ever hear about the victims of their ruthless and evil acts and the devastation they suffer. I know this from personal experience - but I would die if a film-maker, newspaper, magazine came and asked to hear mine and my wife's story!

Lenny made his excuses for his loss, Roy made his excuses for his two losses. Truth is, they were both hard as, and not to be messed with.

Yeah, it is a shit film. I can't stand any of those type of films from that era, or the footy hooli films. It's the lads' mag thespians on a gangsta trip I have a problem with. I was really willing all the leading protagonists to die in Lock Stock. The best of the footy hooli films is Cass, that at least is a genuine biography and the violence is if anything understated rather than contrived to give the actors a hard-on.

Herbert So your response to my statement about the film being objectively, not shit is for you to tell me how you subjectively don't like it. *clap* *clap*

G_Morto - It's not about you this time, princess, my comment was a response to the original post - the clue's in the acquiescent signifier of my very first word. I might have been clearer (and frightfully polite) if I'd addressed my comment to Alex but I was assuming on the widely received rule of thumb that an un-dedicated response pertains to the original comment. Sorry for your confusion. Although I'm not sure how you managed to become confused in the circumstances. Your response to Alex is a self-contained and redundant question to which the only possible honest answers are "Obviously" or "I don't know." Even in your haste to take offence you've haplessly overlooked your own succinct elucidation of the logic which suggests my comment was not a response to yours. Let's not dwell on it, though, aye, mate.

Herbert Ahh it's funny when someone suddenly becomes overly verbose and pretentious when they're called out on the interenet. Not only does it reek of desperation, but it is also painfully clear that you have no clear argument to back up your point. Next time, elaborate on how a film is "shit" using objective analysis rather than going on a childish rant about how you were responding to the op. Just makes you seem uneducated, aye, mate. Now i'll patiently wait for you to use some ad homien to again avoid any real argument.
