Lenny's got a very interesting life story and I've read his book 'The Guv'nor' a few times it was a fantastic read. But I've got a feeling that in real life he wasn't a very nice/good man, just a very feared man who many people in real life pretended to like just to be safe & on his good side. You can't have over 2000 street fights even as a doorman without going looking for it and being the instigator in the vast majority of cases. I've got a feeling that Lenny almost certainly battered loads of weaker men who just happened to of had one too many drinks and didn't really deserve it. Did that make Lenny a bully? That's up to you to decide...I know what I think, I'd love to think Lenny was a hero and all for the underdog just like he was in his fantastic book but I'm afraid it just doesn't pass the smell test. However, I'm not here to put him down or speak ill of the dead now that he can't answer back for himself - Obviously, like all people he will of had a loving side which is the side his family will mainly know either way he was certainly an interesting man who was taken much too soon just as he was on the brink of stardom who left a big mark on the world and will be remembered forever. RIP

Look how proud Lenny is when hearing about his armed robbery at age 14. Lovely man Lawrence Mumford-Phillips which is Lenny’s real name. Lenny went to Winchester school before attending King’s College Oxford. Lenny did have a relationship with Emma Thompson when both were starting in the Oxford Footlights together. Tragedy struck when Lawrence hit his head one evening after slipping on a cream puff in his dorm in Oxford after Thompson had been tickling him. Unfortunately after Lawrence hit his head he suddenly became obsessed with all things East End. He called his chums Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie Guv’nor and broke off his engagement with Thompson to move to London and throw away his career as a poet to work on nightclub doors bashing up unsuspecting 17 year olds.
