Had to look it up myself on the Lenovo website and thought it was awesome really neat and not some gimmick. Auto dim screen when you look away (privacy mode), and you can set it to auto lock when you walk away. In games it controls your camera angle. Let's say you got HOTAs controllers, you can control the camera with your head movements. I'd say that's a huge plus over the 5 Pro.

I got lucky and managed to get the Legion 5 Pro and I love it. Great build, love the keyboard, the screen brightness makes a HUGE difference. I use my old laptop for work and I would really have a hard time going back to that dim screen full-time. Only complaint is that the right-side speaker went out after about a week. It's not a huge deal because I typically use headphones, but Lenovo has promised a replacement when one becomes available, which has left me waiting over a month now. I'm definitely wondering if the speaker issue could be related to a manufacturing error that they have to work out and is impacting availability, but it's just speculation.

I own the legion 7 with the ryzen 9 and rtx 3080. I was very lucky buying it as I live in Egypt and there is virtually no demand for such an expensive laptop here, so lenovo just had the 1 piece in space grey available that they probably thought would never sell. I can guarantee that the legion 7 is an incredible laptop specially in the 3080 spec. The 165 Hz screen makes games like rocket league (which the 3080 can max out to 165fps) where every millisecond matters a lot more enjoyable. The games I play: 1- Ark Survival Evolved 2- Rocket League 3- Teamfight Tactics I also do alot of editing on Davinci Resolve 17 and I am getting really good results so far with super fast rendering and basically 0 problems while editing. I play ark on high settings and while I never added an fps counter the game is super smooth. Obviously it maxes out rocket league and TFT capped at 165 fps. Never removed the cap so I can't tell you if it will surpass that. One last thing, when simply watching shows or movies on the laptop the audio quality is pretty decent. And the leds give amazing ambience when watching in the dark. Lastly the fans are loud, but I am using a Yamaha headset with active noise cancelation which basically makes this no issue of mine. And it does get hot when I am playing ark, but it does quite well when I am playing any other game so far. I hope this comment helps people decide if it is worth it to upgrade their legion 7 or hold a little longer until a better spec is available. Conclusion: I love my legion 7 and to find the laptop you want look in countries where it has no demand :D.

As far as the game testing goes ... you can't compare laptops w/ different GPU's. If you're comparing w/ the Legion 5 Pro (as the title suggests) then have both laptop's w/ the same GPU! The results here are valueless !

It took me awhile to click the darn buy button for the Legion 7 Gen 6 16" laptop. With specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800h, 32GB, and RTX 3060. I added Microsoft 365 and paid USD $1760 after taxes. I received a $360 discount from the extended cyber Monday deal + $100 off for being a first time customer on the Lenovo site. Pretty good price comparing specs to Dell XPS 15. Saved me $1k. Icue and lenovo dont want to resolve the issue for icue version 3, so there is no way to fix this issue without losing 10% cpu usage and bottlenecking yourself. Either stick with version 3 and the bug and have the ability to disable the corsair service to fix the battery drain & performance issues, or go with version 4 and dont have the ability to disable the service without losing functionality, but have the issue fixed. same thing for the hardware lighting mode resetting each time version 3 starts up.

If you need a windows gaming laptop that is also good for productivity and important things then I think Lenovo has some good products. The Legion 7 I think is the better one although not if you need protability. The only trouble as you said is that they are sold out everywhere and you just can't get them. If you are someone who mostly does prodictivity tasks and only a bit of gaming then you will probably get a MacBook Pro and use Parallels. I think Apple is really going to hit Microsoft Windows as well as Intel hard over the next few years and really take market share from them.

I snagged the Legion 5 Pro from Walmart w/ the 3070 and 512GB NVMe storage for $1400. When I checked the Lenovo website they were offering it with 1TB NVMe (and possibly 32GB memory, I forget) for $1850. The fact that the MSRP shown here for the Legion 7 "base" SKU is $1700 for the same specs with a worse GPU is baffling to me.
