I agree with Leon, too many fighters go 100% defensive against stronger wrestlers. Even if you are the weaker wrestler/grappler on paper, you have to be willing to go on the offensive, otherwise it's just too easy for the opponent.
@jakedalton6236
Жыл бұрын
Facts. I’d either wrestle offensively situationally or deal a lot of damage in between defending takedowns like Mcgregor vs Chad Mendes but that’s the more risky approach in my opinion. The sport has evolved a bit since then. Fighters have been starting wrestling offensively at least a little bit I feel like. Alex vs Islam for example. Nobody really expected Alex to go for take down which is why it worked so well imo in the 5th and Alex vs Izzy aswell because Izzy probably didn’t expect it.

@@newporttaylor2702 That's also after he ducked Leon when he was offered to fight him (After Khamzat pulled of their scheduled fight), and Colby rejected the offer and went on to fight a washed up Woodley who was on 2 fight losing streak. You're literally just bringing up his title fights (both of which he lost btw dibshit), that he only got off avoiding contenders and beating up senior citizens. So In conclusion you're basically just proving my point, and glazing Colby for losing close title fights (Which has nothing to do with what I said). And blatantly Ignoring that he's literally avoided fights against contenders that've called him out, Including Leon. Because he only wants to take fights he can win big money on against easy matchups, nothing else. And with Usman being one of the greatest of all time, that still makes Leon even greater, since he literally Is the only fighter to not only KO Usman, and beat him twice In his MMA career. But I understand that It's truly a shame that fans like you exist In this community to solely shit on others to meatride your favorite fighters (that haven't accomplished anything In the UFC, besides a placeholder paper belt). Bro even the second match you got destroyed that leg shot is almost the same as Nate’s strike against you, if it actually knocked you out

I hope you get him again Leon, you are a better person than he is. That whole team gets dirty when things aren't going their way. Just they are usually in control so everyone thinks they are class. Wrong!

Leon is a confidence based fighter, even in the 2nd fight before the head kick he looked down and out, his coach brought out of the fire in him

Have to say I really doubted this guy to win against Usman, always thought he was top 2 or 3 behind Usman and Colby but man this guy truly is the dark horse of the WW division, his fight against Belal you could really see the skill gap. HEADSHOT BANG!!!

he has the correct mindset to be a champion that he is. he was one of the few guys who accepted the fight with kamzat (according to dana) while the other fighters said no. he isn’t afraid of anyone because he wants to prove to himself he is the best . i’m not a fan of his but i respect his mentality

I love him being underdog in last two fights with Usman. Now the world knows him. I cried when he took that belt with the headshot kick. This man was screwed so often. I can't wait til he sleeps Masvidal.
