"Ladies and Gentleman, behold the glory of: The BLINKY LIGHT!!!" The required introduction to any microcontroller program. Excellent introduction. I like the fact that you take the viewers step by step through the code, including all the mistakes we can possibly make; instead of assuming we already know everything about the code and formatting, which is the main mistake other instructors make.

As a musician I can tell you that it matters who your teacher is. First time I was in college (music major) the music number system was explained to me but I just didn't grasp it because the lecture was too long and boring. I was watching a childrens concert by Leonard Bernstein one Sunday afternoon on PBS and he took about 5 minutes to explain it, and boom there it was. Crystal clear. There was my life in music before that day, and then after that day. You sir are my Bernstein of the Arduino! Thank you! I sub'd and will watch the rest of your series. I'm excited. Just what I learned today opens up many possibilities. Can't wait to learn more!!

I'm on lesson 8 already today and will be ordering the kit. I learned basic back in the days of the Commodore 64 because there were few programs, but this is slightly different. Another code language none the less and you just make it so simple. What excites me though is what I'll be able to do via controlling the pins etc. Can't wait to get the kit and experiment! Is there a way or device available to control 60 pins? Got an idea for an led clock. Thanks again. So glad I found you.

A little back ground, I was a CET with the ISCET back in the 80s. I was repairing TVs as a component level tech when tubes were still around. I worked on CNC and NC for years and am now retired. I have not been enthused about electronics for many years now, that is until recently when I found Arduino’s, I feel young again. All that being said, many thanks, your lessons are the best I’ve seen yet and have taught an old dog new tricks. It’s funny you were the first video I have seen with grey hair (and the best). Many years ago when I had a problem that I couldn’t fix and I had to call for help from the manufacturer (big big money) I was so happy to see grey hair come through the door, when I saw the help had grey hair I was assured that the guy knew something and the nightmare would soon end. As a technician (15 years out in the field) and now as a hiring manager in the same industry, I get a lot of questions from people who want to be a technician but are unclear as to the path. So, the next time I am asked I will be recommending and pointing people to your your video series on the Arduino as this lines up perfectly for what our industry is about. Thank you Paul, I have learned a lot from your tutorials, very clear and well thought out. I have watched all your tutorials and now I'm going to go through them again and start giving you the thumbs up. ha, I bought the Arduino for my 14yo son for Christmas. but I haven't been able stop using it myself, it's most excellent :). I'm trying to set up a system to read and store temperature, voltage from my 100watt solar panel and battery voltage level. so far everything is gong well. Now I you have introduced me to Python and the fact that it can listen to the Aduino's serial port, it has opened up a hole new world, Thanks again Paul :)

Mark Carr Thanks for the kind words. Glad the videos are helping. I wish more high schools had engineering programs, but if your school does not, maybe these videos will help. Thanks!
