i`m luckely, i need it to ! jajaja. It is very complicate and i have no idea how to programming. Fernando i connected the SDA- pin0 and SCL-pin2 I think the connection is correct but it doesn`t work when i upload the sketch. i don`t know very well how to programm with it, is too new for me.

You need to know only SDA and SCL to use to be able to make it work. I have video for LCD where the same pins are using. kzitem.info/news/bejne/tm9rzqtjnpVnoY4 so watch this video and use it for laser sensor. Good luck

nice video. Just a suggestion... there is no need to go into device manager and check your serial baudrate. Actually whats written in Arduino sketch is Atmega328 serial interface speed, so u just need to adjust your serial terminal baud-rate. Also every sensor has some minimum blank range so its not working when u r too close. And for larger distance you need to hold some flat surface i guess, hand or pen will not work.

Hi! Thank you for a good explanation. Is this sensor eye-safe for longer exposure? I want to measure the distance to my face for 3 hours at a time and don't want to go blind doing it! :D If not, do you know any other laser sensors that can measure 3cm-30cm that is safe for longer exposures? What is the FOV of this sensor? In your video it looks like it's very narrow. The cable is parallel to the laser but the sensor was not picking them as object

La duda concreta es si funciona bien para detectar personas, porque hice un desarrollo para contar personas con sensores ultrasónicos y depende de la vestimenta los detecta o no, dado que el ultrasonido no rebota cuando los cuerpos absorben las ondas, los sensores ultrasónicos funcionan bien con superficies planas y duras. Me pregunto si tuviste oportunidad de probar ese sensor con personas, en infrarrojo probablemente los blancos funcionen mejor y los grises/negros peor. Tenés experiencia?

You can't put .zip file like that. save zip in your computer. On Arduino IDE click Sketch->Library->Add .zip library and point it to the above zip file and click OK or Open. then close the Arduino IDE and reopen it, it should be okay.

It is tiny dot with virtually zero width.

@@robojax I just tested. The cone is 25 degrees and it gets wider and wider the further away you get. So good for distance reading large flat surfaces like a wall but not narrow gaps. No way it could be used for a 3D scanner :/

First get the I2C scanner to see if you did the wiring correct at this address robojax.com/learn/arduino/?vid=robojax-I2C-scanner and then if you don't get the address, check wiring. if you get the I2C address, and no data, check your library and if wiring is okay, then the module must be bad.

I tested it.. I get the adress, the wires are ok, position of the wires are correct, library ok, and still all of the 3 modules don´t work... I look at them through my cellphone camera and they are not working, and the program crashes most of the times in the serial monitor

There must something else. Try to remove all library from your arduino folder and install fresh library. this is strange. I can't seem to find another reason for this if you tested more than one module.

that would be library issue. try to download the library again. If you still face problem. it means older or other library is creating problem. So backup your library fold and install arduino again and try. it should work..

The accuracy will not change as this beam is laser. It is accurate at 2mm. See the datasheet provided with the code.

tinkmarshino now you have analog pins on the arduino One of them is the scl the other one the sda Scl gives the speed of the conversation (Serial Clock) And sda is the dataport (Serial Data) The arduino starts with a starting message, it tells to one of the devices „hey i am talking to you, so listen now“ So each device has its own address Like this you can have up to (i think) 128 devices on one sda port If you need more information check out great scotts video Or contact me, i will respond if required

Why without moving both the VL53L0X and the target, on the serial monitor the reading of the distance always varies. I would like to obtain a stable result because if I want to measure a distance that does not change, it is not useful seeing that variation.

It depends have precise you want to the measurements. If you reduce the precision, it would be stable enough to be used. To reduce the precision, you need to write a subroutine to do that. If I got a chance, I will have another video on this.

When I measure any object between 30mm and 70mm, I should read the exact lenght of this object on the serial monitor till I remove for another one. If the object stay there for many seconds the result should not change before I insert an another one. Thank you but I'm not comfortable for writing a subroutine with the "Adafruit_VL53L0X.h"

Search the entire Arduino Reference Page, and you won’t find a single mention of the F() macro. Which is unfortunate because it is one of the most powerful functions, which was added with the 1.0 release of the IDE. I keep mixing the terms “macro” and “function.” F() really isn’t a function, it is a #define macro which lives in WString.h www.baldengineer.com/arduino-f-macro.html

I've used the ultrasonic sonar sensor to measure water distance successfully. I'm not sure if this would work with clearwater since it's light-based. Let us know. Also the ultrasonic one is not the straight line distance measurer, it needs some room to work since it works with sound.

Of course if you don’t want to learn then this video is not for you. I have explained each pins and then explained the wiring in how to connect them. If you watch for learning then you don’t need any diagram because you would already know the pins and what they do. So Do a google or Bing image search to get the diagram and never learn.
