That Masterbilt sounds great, and looks pretty nice too. Better than a lot of their demos for them on You Tube actually. Aubry is a good one. I often wonder how many girls are named after songs. Then you had their out of the norm heavy rocker - " Mother Freedom". Very good vocal technique with that singer. Nicely crafted catchy songs. It's all there.

Thanks for your video. Saved me a lot of headache and time learning a song I really loved from the 70's!!! Quick question... On the lyrics "You taught me why" I see you playing an A, Bm7 to the E11, and the other variation, but when I went back to the original I am hearing an A#dim7 (which lowered would have been Adim7) on the words "You" and "taught". Are there different versions?
@DavesGuitarChannel

Great ear. I do these songs after playing them so long. I just listened. The bass is actually playing A# A#, B, E . The guitar is playing F#+, F#, Bm7, E11. It sounds like both guitars are playing something different.

I would have never picked that out as an added chordal tone. I figured it was just functioning as a passing tone between the two chords. It's a shame such a great song has such low views. I just noticed you never covered If by Bread. It also has an 11 chord in it.

Nice lesson. But Is the second chord G maj 7? Isnt it B minor after Amaj7. Also Is it E7 sus4 instead of E 11 as you teach? Thanks
@DavesGuitarChannel
3 жыл бұрын
E9sus4 is also a correct name for this chord however, in sessions, most people write this chord out as an E11 and just omit the 3 and 5. Both names are correct. I talk about this alot on my channel how jazz miusicians will always refer to this as a E9sus4 while doing sessions it was always listed as an E11. As far as the Bm after the Amaj7, yes that is the name. I never call it Gmaj7, I just say it moves a whole step down, i am referring to the chord and the position on how to play the chord, not the name of the chord. Once the verse starts I explain its a Bm.
@DavesGuitarChannel

Not to beat a dead horse. But here is Nile Rodgers and when he explains Everybody Dance, you will see he too, calls what you would call a Bb9sus4, a Bb11. It's just a common name when charting and also looking at the chord because we see it as a Bb in the bass with the 7,9,11 extension even though the 3 and 5 is omitted.
