VL Muachhana's peace fills my heart with joy! And my joy lightens the hearts of others. This is how we make a beautiful world, one blessing, one kindness at a time. You are an old soul, Mateus! Where it would take most players a lifetime(or two!) to achieve(if ever!) such an incredible and emotion-conveying technique, you've achieved it well within a decade or so of picking up the instrument! It's people like you that have pretty much convinced me that reincarnation is real! Because nurture, nature, time, talent and environment can only account for so much for your incredible ability at such a young age! The rest has to be from having experience in a previous life...or three! That's my theory, anyway! Cheers!

By far the most expressive guitar player of all time in terms of melody, texture and getting the guitar to go from different states of vocal expression and tone solely through his touch and connection with the instrument. He doesn't need a big tone with sizzling power tubes and feedback manipulation to say what he wants. And let's face it. He is a superior communicator on the instrument and talks to the listener with a beautiful, eloquent vocabulary. I am not suggesting that playing guitar is a contest among the small percentage that still includes hundreds of virtuosos who have practiced and made a connection with the instrument to say what they want to say and how they want to say it. To each his own. Having said that, many guitar players who have amazing technique plus great phrasing and improv ideas have gone far beyond garden variety guitar athletes who effortlessly burn through 3 or 4 notes per string, 32nd notes with precise timing at mind blowing metronome settings. Those lesser shredders who still can be proud of their incredible precision and timing are often playing repetitive diatonic scale shapes burning through octaves on 3 sets of 2 strings and either using smooth legato technique or blazing, synchronized alternate picking . Therefore, as amazingly difficult as it is to do that (not in terms of playing in the moment and developing ideas, the sheer number of hours and discipline required to be technically perfect as far as performing feats of strength and speed on the guitar almost like great acrobats, sprinters or stuntmen) that type of playing (as important as it is to develop) should be reserved for when it is an effective tool for creative expression/ communication/honesty. Having said all that, I believe Mateus is one of the few players that has the ability to be as skilled with musical prose and the most gifted writers or poets. Few players that come to mind have as rich of a musical vocabulary to take a classic vocal and make it more meaningful and convey more imagery and cover more ground than the song that includes a band, a great vocal performance and timeless lyrics. I have never seen anyone do that and it is why I believe he will go down in history as one of the musical geniuses that comes along once every generation if that. People rave about Taylor swift and other popular and talented singers. Not one of them can touch this guys artistry. It's not even an opinion but a fairly objective fact if you know what you are seeing and hearing within a historical context. Simply incredible.
