I came here to tell the comment section to buy "Julia Hungry". If you are a poetry/literature person, this is a collection you can really sink your teeth into. If you like to read, but poetry is outside your comfort zone, this is a wonderful door into a new world for you. Hannah makes the feminine experience so approachable here while also capturing the mysteries and nuances of womanhood. Working your way through the book will make you feel like your world is alive and sensual and almost magic. It's really good, y'all.

These days I’m skeptical about companies marketing any kind of social or environmental good by tying it to our consumption. Seems like a crazy level of wish fulfillment, and that we maybe humor companies more than we should with this? The subliminal message is actually so funny and kind of sad: “You get to do the thing you most want to do on a personal level-buy more stuff-and somehow buying yourself stuff will support these other things that you vaguely hope someone somewhere is doing.” I guess I’d rather companies give back than not, and we’re all working within imperfect systems, but I can’t help but think of a young person 40 years from now asking me “okay but you let a company tell you with a straight face that you throwing away MORE plastic was helping the turtles? The turtles whose habitat is the OCEAN??”

I don't care that you keep talking about the chaos in your life. I feel like it makes you relatable. Who said that you should be fully installed in a new house within a few weeks- with a youngster? It has always taken me a week to feel like home after a move, even if I were just a working nurse with no kids "and nothing else to do". I say, stop apologising for the background AND keep talking about the chaos! ❤

I LOVE your new haircut - I’m definitely using a photo of you for inspo to get my next trim. I got a very similar cut about 4 months ago (but not so nearly well executed), after my super long heavy hair was giving me headaches due to stress with a major life change. I sometimes miss the long dramatic hair but have received nothing but compliments on the shorter style AND washing and styling take less than 1/4 of the time so gonna stick with it for a while!!

Having moved around 20 times , I have accepted the fact that settling in takes time. It takes time to build a home and it takes time for the new place to feel like home. You will get there soon enough. It's the clutter and disorganization and the "which box is it in?!" that irritating. I just LOVE your new 'do! I think it's long enough to be a womanly cut. And perhaps the stylist's razor method that minds the volume gives it that free-loving-hippie-sway-with-the-wind look. I too have become a lover a simple concealer-all-over and pop of color lip with little to no cheek product: skin is IN!

Hannah! Ohhh! For your next in-depth review on lip balms, could you pretty please do a swatch comparison between Rabanne Soul Kiss vs Gone Greige? They appear to be of a similar flavor. I've been on my own dupe hunt for Gone Greige - my favorite dupe you found back in the day, from Rituel de Fille, looks to be discontinued. Wherever life gives you time to sort out all the goodies; I suspect the nostalgia/reference makeup isn't at the top of the unpacking list, lol.

i love the silly goose energy in this 😆 wanted to tell you! i finally indulged and got the isamaya tinted balm in vanity - the black shade. if you’re still on a tinted balm hunt may be worth a try. bullet ✅ sheer (even when i’ve layered it 3-4 times it is still sheer. note that i have quite pigmented lips) ✅ shiny (not the MOST. probably 4-5/10?) ✴️ texture - not super thin but not super thick. fairly good lasting power. i would say almost but not quite glossier balm levels of thickness ✴️ colour - i think you said this one is flexible if the other criteria are met. i like that it’s a very wearable black. my first few applications i found the colour (even sheer) a bit disappointing, but i think it just needed to be broken in cause less than 24h later it’s perfect and applying SO much nicer (colour wise specifically). hope this helped! 🩷🖤

Your thought process about "ignoring overwhelm in the hopes of will go away" might actually be on to something. Brooke Castillo refers to emotions like overwhelm, worry, self-doubt as "indulgent" emotions. I personally don't love that word in this context, but her point is that if you continually think to yourself "I'm overwhelmed", it results in feeling overwhelmed, which leads to the outcome of being overwhelmed; it's a closed loop without any resolution. However, if you think to yourself something like, "I'm open to a solution", your feeling is likely to be something like optimism, which generally results in making some small changes that do actually result in a better out come. Thoughts really do become things 😆 Anyways, love the hair. I'm terribly overdue for a hair cut, and my hair is much finer than yours, so I'm trying to figure out how to translate what you got onto my head. Screen shots abound 💇♀️

I'm a hairdresser and i've observed that something about the first year or so after having a baby seems to make many women try a much shorter haircut for the first time or the first time in a long time. Hormones change hair growth and texture, wanting something lower maintenance, and of course, babies going through the hair pulling/ grabbing phase. I think it can be really freeing and cleansing. I love the way your stylist layered your cut, it really suits how much hair you have, it basically sounds like what I would have done in that situation.
