Well Done Micka. I have always looked forward to post spawn. The fish are real hungry and in intermediate depths - high flow, chasing bait. This year, they went from spawn (May) to deepest sections of the river/lake (mid July) pattern. Water Temps sky high and NO flow. Sure could use some rain over here in East TN. All of the decent sized fish are anchored to the bottom. But I am having success dragging the deepest sections, big fish but they sure are skinny. Fish for a 150 yard stretch for the deepest contours, 0.6 MPH, once I get shallower, move on up, repeat. You show a textbook method of finding fish for a given contour, great content! I have not had much luck on white bass bait. Skipjack and red horse sucker over here.

Nice! So you fished ahead of the barge in the beginning for a 300 yard stretch of river, and your plan was to go back upstream (I assume) or downstream. My question is did keep fishing on the way back to your original location?

@@wtwoods6687 thank you. No I reeled everything in and went back down river close to the original starting spot then started agin going up river.

Nice break down. We been up there the last few weekends seems the bite is little better than last couple years there. Do you think with the higher water all spring kept the pressure down.
@mickaburkhart14

@@michaelpaugh7462 well I'm not really sure if that's the case or not. I would say it definitely didn't hurt in that aspect. I have noticed a big jump in numbers of the 5 to 10 pound fish class. Which is really good to see. For the future anyway.

Any tips for someone who cant drag baits this time of year?
@mickaburkhart14

If you are anchoring you can still do the exact same thing. Move 50 60 feet and setup. Pretty much rinse and repeat after that until you cover the area and figure out where the fish are.
