Gardeners live in hope. That’s why most of us have too many seed packets.

I just threw away a bunch of 10 year old seeds. I thought about just planting all of them in a random space, but then I thought, I'd rather use that space for something that is more likely to do something. I got some of the red noodle beans, because I saw the ones you grew and thought that they were cool!

I am guilty of the same thing. I want them and don’t remember where I put them until I order more. I am hopeful when I start but when the weather gets hot I lose interest. I enjoy seeing your videos because they remind me of my self.

I would love if I could buy packs of like 5 seeds for 50 cents or something. That way us backyard gardeners could try different stuff every year without having tons of seeds left over. I've grown the Hokus cucumbers for the last 2 years and they have done great for me. I pickle them so I can't speak to fresh eating. But the vines do well all summer for me! 😊 I too have a stash of "delusional" seeds - and my eyes are always bigger than my garden when I'm ordering this stuff mid-winter!

You mentioned perennial sweet peas, they come up year after year in my garden and I don't do anything to add to their growth. They are very sweet looking but do spread if not watched and controlled 🍡 I do add them to small vases and enjoy them. The same goes for the Rose of Sharon bushes, they grow and produce & must be controlled. Nice to see you again 😊

I am hopeful the 32 milk jugs I sowed seeds over the past couple of weeks will germinate! I started mostly flowers but some of my cold tolerant veggies too. I keep an ongoing spreadsheet in Google Sheets from year to year of which varieties work well for me. For instance, after the third year, I am giving up on kohlrabi (I think it gets too hot too fast here in NJ for it). I sort the list by flowers/vegetables/type....so I know that I have three different kinds of sweet pea and four varieties of lettuce! Good luck to everyone :-)

I started about 200 onion seeds,4 varieties. I grew the biggest onions last year so I double up. I'm pulling back to just staple we can consume in a year. I was over run with tomatoes peppers last year I had a heck of a time with freezer space till I could can it all.

Great to see you Jenny. I really enjoy seeing what seeds other gardeners have bought/ordered. I watched one lady yesterday on KZitem who prefaced her video saying, "no judgements here 😂! She had tubs of seeds already and then presented her newest acquisitions. Those darned packets are just too gorgeous to pass up! ❤

I grew dragon tongue last year for the first time and they were a fan favorite. Not only are they gorgeous they are tender and very delicious. They are a bush bean not a pole bean so try to make some room for them in your space you won't be disappointed. I am going to try one container of winter sowing this year for the first time but starting so many seeds indoors also:)

I am limited by my growing lights (just 2 small shelves) but I have too many seedlings anyway. I have been donating them to my garden club sale in May for last 2 years and it actually works very good. I can help the good cause and I am not overwhelmed with seedlings when the season begins.

I've been growing everything from seed since about 2019 (a few things from seed before that) and every year I say I'll rein in the amt I sow and each yr I go crazy. It's meant I've been able to share a lot of seedlings w friends the last few years, but it's so much time and work. Maybe this year will be the year I'll rein it in lol. Oooh I'm trying those biwuinho peppers too! Also heavily influenced by GA, R&R, and others 😬😂

I always buy too many seeds. Only successful with lettuce. With the warm Minnesota winter really I have to suppress the spring planting bug. We still have 3 months of winter normally here. But then again, my sister, was tapping trees and making maple syrup today. Go figure.

Yes I too planted perennial sweet pea which was great until it took over my small garden, so I had to pull it out which had a really deep thick vine. It does not smell either. It reseeds very easily & I didn’t get it all, so have to pull it out still. I love growing sweet peas, & now grow annual ones, but I have a hard time figuring out if it’s a good or bad sweet pea plant.

I have so many seed packets I could start a seed store. Because I didn’t have a good seed storage system there are many many repeat seed packs. I’ve started collecting ( finding ) them all and have put the ones that I have found all in a central location. For whatever reason they are in some pretty weird spots around the house. I guess I thought that I was ( hiding ) them from the mice, and apparently from me. 😆❄️🫠💚🙃

I grow the leafy types so I can harvest the large outside leaves and let the inner leaves continue to grow. That way I'm not waiting a long tie for harvest. For two people, this works well if I have about 6-8 plants going at any given time. Can harvest enough outer leaves to make a salad without stripping the plants too bare.
