Doppelgänger has nothing to do with AI. The doppelgänger is Naomi Wolf (author of The Beauty Myth). People keep getting Klein and Wolf confused. Their politics and world views differ quite a lot. Klein uses the confusion as a starting point to look at various social issues including politics, the anti-vax movement etc.

Ahh thank you so much!!! Looks like I got confused during research (very fitting with the theme 😂). I saw the blurb of the book mentioned AI generated content, so that’s why I mentioned it in the video. But your explanation makes a lot of sense, maybe the AI generated content is only a fraction of what she discussed in the book - thank you so much! I’ll pin your comment for others to see.

Hi Meonicorn! It's so nice that they added a prize for non-fiction, more books to discover! The books that I'm interested in the most are "Some People Need Killing", "Shadows at Noon" (but it's over 800 pages, so it'd take me a looong time to read it 😅), and "The Dictionary People". But overall this is a very interesting list and it does a good job at including many different topics.

Haha yea the length of some of the books really intimidated me too XD Among the 3 books you mentioned, I might read Some People Need Killing first, so excited!! Happy reading Xx

I was so excited by the longlist announcement this week! I'm not the world's biggest reader of nonfiction, but do enjoy some of it. I had bought Wifedom and Eve already, and am keen to read them. I started How To Say Babylon on audio this week, and it's amazing. Of course a Jamaican accent makes anything better... However, Safiya Sinclair was born into a very poor Rastafari family.
