Yea I agree it would be great if we knew the hours I looked it up and I built this saw for Garrett just over 2 years ago and he cuts around 6 days a week most the time This was his bigger saw that he was pulling a 42”on its whole life and he even had a 50”on it for a while too its spent most it’s life in burnt timber he says it has a few million board feet on it but really hard to say on hours

@@westcoastsaw1368 he certainly put a heavy load on it. It is good for folks to see and hear about what a saw lasted through to get to the point of failure like this. A great follow up to your piston video.

Nice... i just got myself a 661 because someone let it go further than this.... cracked the intake side of the skirt, enough of that got between the piston and the crankcase stuffer, and popped the wristpin boss right out the bottom of the piston... somehow it didnt damage the bottom end at all though... i think it let go quick enough that it didnt have time to work anything thru the bearings, as everything was still tight and smooth... needless to say, a new ported aftermarket top end later and i have a hell of a work saw now.....LOL

It’s cool seeing this high hour 661. Question for you Gordy; is the carbon build up on the piston normal, ideal or poor. In any case would be curious for your thoughts on the owners oil choice and if you like or dislike the oil the owner uses. Yep… you heard me right: let’s have an oil discussion. 😂 Joke aside are you happy with the oil choice of the owner and what oil was he running?
