Good Life used to be so reasonable. I haven't been there in ages, but need to go to get something for my living room. Can usually find Palm Beach Regency style stuff there or the used furniture store in that plaza. And it's a heck of a lot cheaper than the actual Palm Beach Regency store up the road! The Delray Goodwill stopped being great like 15 years ago.

When I lived in the gulf coast of Florida for 3 years, I found that Goodwill and Salvation Army stores were quite different from Pennsylvania, where I'm originally from. There was a lot of rattan furniture that reminded me of Golden Girls and Tommy Bahama was everywhere. My boyfriend picked up about a dozen Tommy shirts at the local Salvation Army for less than the cost of one shirt new. I love those elephant tables. I've been on the hunt for one that is relatively inexpensive. I did find one at a junk store in southern New Jersey, which is where I'm living now, and they wanted too much for it, and it was just in fair condition and they refused to go down in price..bah! The hunt for one continues.

Thrift stores are only as good as the communities around them! The Goodwill in Southern Pines, NC is out of this worldddddd! I found hundreds of dollars of books, kitchen supplies, furniture and other high quality items... Yet here in Ohio.. it's stuff from dead people's hoards... And smells like it, too. 😬

Thanks for bringing us along Andrew, too bad it was a bit of a bust, you had all that cargo capacity of the van and nothing worth filling it. I Had a chance to check out a store called Finds in Edmonton a couple weeks ago, always nice to check out new places. We were thinking of going to Habitat for Humanity as well, but I was peopled out by this time, and there was nothing I really wanted or needed.

The Chinese windscreen is so lovely. Though, it is rather steep. But then again, it is a high value antique. It will get snatched up pretty quick, I'd wager. The clean-shaven face is looking so handsome today.

A couple of the stores you visited had a good selection of men's shoes, which I'm envious of. The thrife stores around here always seem to have barely any men's shoes at all. Some of the furniture pieces were quite special, as well.

The minute I saw your face I thought wow you look fantastic and then I realized you didn't have the mustache! I know I have dissed the mustache in the past so I'm surprised I didn't see it right away, but I'm even more surprised at how absolutely fabulous it looks gone ! You look incredible!! And I don't know if you know about a product called Whink. You'll just squirt it on those rusty shirt cuffs and it takes the rust out right before your eyes. Be careful though -it's dangerous- yet has no odor. It's also sometimes difficult to find

That fancy lady was an Erte print. I just paid a crazy amount of money for one at an estate sale. But later that day I put a 20 in a slot and won all my money back. Mines framed and matted alot nicer but for 20 I would have snagged that. 😁

I'm very familiar with the stores in this video. The RE store just isn't as nice as it was 5-6 years ago and the prices are just short of greedy. The GoodWill sometimes has interesting finds but they must be short handed because so often when I go there the shelves are bare. What's with these people; the stuff is given to them for free and the drop off area always has cars waiting to drop off stuff. I think a lot of it has to do with their online auctions.

That "creative or creepy" was a scene of Hasidic/Jewish Rabbis. It is by a well known artist and was beautifully matted with an expensive frame. That Goodwill in Delray is one of the worst in SF. Its usually not that empty, maybe theyre closing it.

@REISSUED I thrift all over SF, but I'm not a reseller. The GW I go to on Hallandale, Beach Blvd, Northlake Blvd WPB, there used to be a GW Boutique in Boca on Federal Highway (small but hi-end) there are a ton of thrift stores...depends on area you are . I go to that HOH when I'm in Boca as well. Happy Hunting. I enjoy your esthetic.

Your thrifting videos (Really - all of your videos!)are so enjoyable. For me, I questioned having fur coats in Florida! 😅 Then I remembered that so many northerners retire in FL. Still, they would be best donated to a wildlife rescue organization. They make cozy beds for rescued critters. Seeing the coats hanging there made me sad. Wearing them - at least for most people - would be unethical.

Heads up: the print that you called "Creative or creepy?" is an impressionistic painting of a Simchat Torah celebration, so not the greatest thing to be snarky about. Boca historically has a lot of Jewish retirees who come down from NYC/NJ.

It's a shame that they're overpricing their items. A lot of thrift stores are closing because people don't want to over pay for donated items. The Goodwill could possibly be getting less donations due to their recent bad reviews.
