Delightful video, Gary! I just want to say "thank you" for making Darlene such an important person in your life. The fact that you come to visit her means SOOOO much to her, and gives her SOOOO much joy. I just love to see the smiles on her face, and the joy in her heart. I had a similar experience when "renting" a horse to ride. My sister and I had traveled to Mexico, and we were going up into the mountains on horseback....at least my sister got to go on horseback. I was the last one to check in, so I got stuck with riding a mule. Yep, stubborn as they come. He wouldn't do anything I wanted him to do, and just did what HE wanted to do. Fortunately, I did not get bit. I have never heard of or eaten French toast waffles. Interesting!

Hi Darlene, Gary, Claudine, Bill and sweet family! I am thrilled that Gary has come for another visit, wish it was more often. I enjoyed your story Gary and I had a similar experience, but I didn’t get bit. Gary just use same amount of fat to flour and add milk a little at a time to the consistency you want and add salt and pepper to taste. It thickens a little more as it cools. My favorite gravy is sausage gravy with biscuits. I was raised up on gravy and biscuits and I raised my kids up that way. Homemade is the best. Been making gravy for 50 years because my mother couldn’t keep me out of the kitchen, lol. I had to watch everything her or my grandmother’s did in the kitchen. Living in Tennessee it’s a staple around here. I learned to can foods at a young age and I still can to this day. Your breakfast looks delicious. Hope everyone has a blessed weekend! ❤️

I’m going to write that down in one of my cookbooks about dipping toasted waffles in egg mixture!🤗 My husband & I owned our own Horseback Rentals for 12 years! Boy…we can tell all kinds of stories….people & the horses! We owned 27 horses at one time! Over a hundred during those years!!! It was fun…but a lot of hard work also!🐎

Hi Darlene and Gary, Do you have Libby canned vegetables (corn, peas, green beans) in Canada? That same company...Libbys... sells "Country Sausage Gravy" in a can. Here it is $1.68 and tastes just like the sausage gravy biscuits you get at McDonald's. You just heat it up in a pan until hot, and serve over biscuits. Before I started buying the canned gravy I made my own. Put your sausage in a skillet and while it is cooking break it up into crumbles with a spoon (a wooden spoon works best for me). Cook until there is no more pink. Remove the cooked crumbles from the pan onto a paper towel on a plate. Top with another paper towel to soak up any grease off the sausage. Pour the grease from the skillet into a measuring cup to see how much you have. To make the gravy, you need the same amount of flour as grease. Pour the grease back in the skillet with the burner on medium. Stir in the same amount of flour as grease. Generosity salt & pepper the flour. Cook and stir until the flour turns brown, has absorbed the grease, and starts to thicken. Pour in milk... I have never measured but I'm going to guess two cups. Stir & cook until the milk comes to a boil. Reduce heat, stir constantly until the gravy is the consistency you want (not too thick but not as runny as milk). If it is too thick add more milk, a little at a time. Put your cooked sausage in the pan when you add the milk. Stir until combined. If you add more milk, let it cook until the milk is hot and the consistency you want. It will probably take 8 to 10 minutes, start to finish.Serve over biscuits.

Thanks for the detailed recipe. Gary's going to try it when he gets home. He says he thinks that Tennessee must be the birthplace of the biscuits and gravy, because so many people from there know how to make it.

You need a channel, you’re a natural. So glad you came to visit and give Claud a hand and your sweet sister. I’m from Tennessee in the South and my kids learned to eat with biscuit and gravy made with sausage drippings or bacon. One of my faves to this day but man is it fattening. You and Dar definitely look like sis and brother. 😀marnie
