There was a modern Claw who was a member of the quirky supernatural team Primal Force. That was a 90's series spun out of DC's Zero Hour event.

A second Claw??? Wow! I had no idea! I had to google this one and that sounds pretty neat. I wonder how the two compare. I may have to do some dollar bin diving to find out!

It was a fun series that lasted less than 20 issues, and maybe 1 Showcase appearance, with a team comprised of C listers, and new characters. Red Tornado being the most "famous" member.

Was one of my favorite series in the 70s. I recall being confused when they stopped publishing it in the 70s. There was no internet, so it wasn't obvious that there was an implosion in the industry. I remember reading some Wonder Woman comic in the 2000s, in which Diana completely spit on the character. I'd like to read the original series again, but cannot find any digital versions of it.

Yep, I read about his later appearance in a Wonder Woman story and how it was a very big change for the character. That whole mess with the explosion and implosion back in the 70’s much have been an odd time to be buying off the racks during as it was so sudden (based on what I’m reading online).

I always liked Claw. I read it in the 70s and got the trades for the Sonja crossover and the miniseries. Great art in them all and interesting stories.

Claw was a very interesting character! DC did well in creating him and really could have done so much more. I’m keeping an eye out for the trade of the Sonja series now to get more of the context that goes before the miniseries. It’s too bad the character is likely dead IP at this point and we may just not get any more, but I’m still hopeful.

Hey, Tennesse! Can you please review CrossGen's "Sigil" Omnibus published by Marvel? CrossGen was my favorite comics company and I'm hoping the entire line gets published in omnibus form by Marvel who currently owns the IP. I think you'd like protagonist Samandahl Rey since you appreciate blood-and-thunder brawlers like Conan and are a fan of Valiant-style connectivity. I'd enjoy watching you deconstruct the series and get the word out!

Oh! Sigil you say? That is one I don't know. I'll keep an eye out when I'm out and about for it and see if it can be had! thanks for the suggestion!

@@tennesseefats Cheapgraphicnovels site has it at 40% off! Marvel included everything related to the title but not all of it is placed in the correct spot. Here's a reading guide for you if you get it: -- Sigil 1 -- CrossGen Chronicles 1 -- Sigil 2 - 5 -- Weaponsmaster Back-up -- Sigil 6 - 7 -- CrossGen Chronicles 4 -- Sigil 8 - 14 -- Saurians: Unnatural Selection 1 - 2 -- Sigil 15 - 26 -- Nonessential Personnel Back-up -- Sigil 27 - 35 -- Sigil 36 KEY ISSUE -- Sigil 37 - 42 -- Sigil 43 Script only Also, Gollancz has published a hardcover Centenary Edition of "The Complete Chronicles of Conan" which has "The Hour of the Dragon" novel, the 20 short stories, the 5 fragments, "The Hyborian Age" essay and the poem "Cimmeria" all unadulterated and authorized by the Howard Estate.

In my Head-Canon Claw/Valcan is Conan from an Alternate Reality.

It's a logical conclusion. The guy clearly is similar and the descriptions in the narrative in the comics clearly support the very strong similarities.
