Hahahaha brilliant mate! Love the video and the ghetto jig. As long as it gets the job done, it is a win. I was going to say when you measured out, pocket holes are 15 degrees, glad you got that sorted ;) What a cracking entry. I am a fan of "Proof of Concept" jigs before investing the time in a 'real' version. Top stuff. 👍

Thanks! Yea, the 20 degrees was me eyeballing it from pictures, but just before I was gonna make the cut I thought "this is probably something that aunty internet can help with" so I googled it and adjusted. 😅

Thanks! Can't recommend it for long time use, but if you only need a couple of holes it works surprisingly well, especially if you had the right kind of drill!

A classic. I gave this a go a few times but couldn't get it right, yours looks mint! Might need to give it another Crack, especially as I've lent my cheap aluminium one to a workmates and we've gone into a lockdown here in nz. Cheers mate!

Thanks! If I were to do an Mk. II, I think I would make one for each dimension of lumber, and then add supports on each side to keep it from twisting when drilling the hole. That would probably reduce the ware on the jig, and only require a single clamp.

I personally could never justify myself spending decent money on a jig, when I could easily just throw a spade bit in, tilt the drill on some wild angle, grit my teeth & hope for the best! . . . . but this jig speaks to me!! Great idea
@CrudeButEfficient

Thanks! This (as many of my projects) were mostly to get the idea out of my head. I only needed a dozen holes drilled, and didn't feel like using angle brackets, so if I hadn't done the jig I would probably have done the spade bit and hope for the best method...

Make the hole a little bigger and line it with the appropriate size metal sleeve. You are smart enough to figure the rest of it

I can spend an hour or 2 to make this wooden jig that will be good for a few uses instead of spending $12 for a cheapy jig made out of aluminum that'll last longer? Or save the $40 it costs for something much more robust and accurate? Who knew?
@CrudeButEfficient

True - this was more a proof of concept to see how shitty a home made one would be. Now I know what to expect of a proper one.

It'ld be better if you explained it much more clearly and slowly. It is of no benefit to see pencil marks going onto wood or a fast forward action ending.

Too bad you didn't enjoy it. The video was not meant as a How To or instruction, more of a inspiration piece. My channel is mostly me trying out ideas, so I don't feel like I'm in any position to give step by step instructions.

Thanks! You can always turn the volume down, and I can assure you that the music was better than the kids random screams and other noises in the background that the audio component of the original video files had...
