I looked up the "uncle raising the son" thing and found very little about this- however, did find some papers and articles saying that this was true in some unique societies like "some" Native American tribes (I found this in ONE paper) and I saw it discussed in detail as a practice of a very particular tribe in China- but even the paper that described it, unless I was misreading it, seemed to highlight it as an unusual practice in contrast with most other cultures, even in that time and place. Also, unless I'm mistaken, Uncle Charles, I believe, was Stephen's GREAT uncle, not his uncle proper. I think he was SIMON's father's brother.

It's great to watch you guys go thru the text for the very first time! I applaud you. 👏👍🍀 Yes: this is straight up biographically "spot on correct" young JJ's life. Regarding the Byron comments: At _Portrait_ II.3 that "Byron is a bad man" stems from the Irish poet Thomas Moore who along w publisher John Murray burnt Byron's memoirs -- loosely based on this "foolish reason." This goes back to "An Encounter" from _Dubliners_ a story Brian @Bookish just covered in #Dubliners2019 🍀🇮🇪💚 *WTG* you two and *_Sláinte_* mates . . .

00:30 "Holy Shit," sez Adrien when I _think_ the correct pronunciation of said slur as most prophetically authentic coming hence from wee J.J.'s pursed and blistered lips had been: _Holy_ *_SHITE_* Yes, _no?¿?_ I mean, sure, you may Google *_F.O.M.O._* if ya gander, but you can take my word. 👍🤷👥🤗🛎️🌩️💡🐲🧔
