These pieces remind me of Project Runway Canada season one, where a lot of the designers got enamored with designs that involved a lot of ties and dangling strings and such. Very cool.

Oh thanks so much! It's from the 80s, and It's the same model that my mum bought for herself when she was about my age (and then later taught me on). The Janome Memory Craft 6000 will always have a special place in my heart💕 if you're considering investing in a vintage machine, they're excellent!

This was awesome! Actually this split side idea isnt totally for me but maybe this would solve a problem I have where I have a bit of vintage fabric thats Just shy of wide enough to make my dream pants, even if i just do the ties temporarily until i can find the ultimate way to deal with the sides. Maybe a layer underneath the ties? who knows! Thanks for the inspiration! I really enjoy your videos
@capabletrinket

Ooooh! That sounds so cool!! If you're not feeling the ties, you could totally split the leg pieces of your preferred pattern down the middle or side-ish and add a contrast fabric to fill it out and give you cute little stripes down the side! I can't wait to hear how it turns out!

@@TheLynjon I see no reason why not! You could do this with any garment. As long as the garment has side seams, ties totally doable.
