One trick I was taught early on is to drape your air hose over your shoulder. That way you prevent it accidentally touching the wet paint. Getting any kind of blemish like that is always a pain in the ass! Also, swivel connector leader hose off your gun helps a ton!

Yep, I painted some of my cars outside under trees, and it turned out ok. I did single stage. One just needs good light, light to no wind, and no leaves falling. Sometimes a bug or two gets in the paint, but wayyyy cheaper than paying someone who is just in it for the money to paint the auto. They do not do the prep, and quality masking needed. Plus they over charge for cheap paint, and in 2 plus years, you can see the lack there of by them, but they got your money, none the less.

@@seanbrooks9308 Why does anyone work at a job? There is shops that half ass things no doubt, but the majority of us that have our own do not. Yes doing it for the money is the point, but so is doing it right so you have people spread the word AND come back. If places don't prep, mask right, or charge too much they ain't in business long.

@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 I appreciate the feedback. I have a garage that is fully covered and with concrete floor. That is going to help me with the wind, dirt and weather problems. I'll give the epoxy floors a good thought once I settle in. The garage still doesn't have electricity, but I'm working on getting it connected very soon. Also, a 60 gal. compressor was another big investment to the garage & channel. My best gun i have would be the Italco h3000 (which I save for base coats, candy and clears), then the Kobalt for anything else. Definitely trying to give the channel an upgrade.
