I repented for sexual immorality yesterday. I was in tears on the floor listening to a fellow brother's testimony. Similar journey. He was a bachelor gave his life to Christ. 2 months later met his current fiance. When he said he was "tired of the empty feeling" after sleeping around I felt that and repented. 2 years sober from alcohol, 1 year of no porn. God is just getting started in my life. ✝️ I'm serving His kingdom. If you're reading this... you're never alone. Jesus loves you!

@BobbySmith-ek9fl

Hey, you may feel like you're not as cool, but you are the cool one for having those boundaries and sticking to them! I know what it's like being in a spot like that, I mean last year I was in an online relationship with my ex and we did a lot of stuff we shouldn't have. And until recently I didn't realize how it scarred me. It got me into a mindset that if as long as I only think about her for that stuff it's fine. And that's put me down a rabbit hole I'm still climbing out of. Luckily I'm now at the point that with my current girlfriend I DO NOT allow myself to even think of her like that or anything along those lines, and we've both set strong boundaries about it. But the reason I'm telling you this is to tell you that it's worth staying strong! God will reward you for it and your relationship will be better for it. Especially if it doesn't work out. But I will be praying for you, and I hope you can remember to stay strong. Because you are amazing, you're staying true to God, and you're stronger than most people are nowadays. So you got this! Keep your boundaries and it will be well worth it in the end! Ps. Remember even if you aren't "cool" by normal social standards, you are amazing by God's standards!

We all have different experiences. We had already had sex several times before the first episode of abuse happened. I felt like I loved him by then. It only progressed from words to physical to unspeakables. I enabled abuse for 15 years, had 4 children and finally left after 17 charges (8 felonious) I alone pressed on him in a year's time (He also assaulted my father twice because I left). I had enough and was scared to death, but called on God to help me. He sure did and the rest is a fairy tale! A supernatural chain of events that only God could have orchestrated to get me and my children out of that situation. If I practiced God's word when I met my children's father, I probably would have left after that first burst of anger.

I don't think it is. People get turned on by folks even touching their hair or face. Hugging will most likely be a big deal, especially when your feelings & attraction already speak loudly without physical contact. It's wiser not to trivialize anything, even when it may not be your personal experience. You might not be moved by it but you can't speak for the other party really and in the end, it's usually great to avoid experiencing the adverse outcome (that may be possible) when there's an opportunity to learn from another's. My two cents.

I feel like the concept of not even having a one-on-one conversation with a friend of the opposite sex is a little insulting to the intelligence and self control of both parties. Shouldn’t that friend of the opposite sex respect you regardless of if you are with someone or not and not make advances if you are not welcoming them? And should you, clearly respecting your partner, not welcome any advances made? Or are we all just inherently sexual beings with absolutely no self awareness and self control?
@cassieatitus9604

that’s a really good point!! i think it might just be an “above reproach” thing. if you don’t meet up with or hang out with the other sex without your boyfriend/spouse, that eliminates satan’s opportunity to weave his way in and cause destruction.

A friend of the opposite sex should definitely respect you, but what happens if that friend doesn't care that you're in a relationship? Say you are dating someone that has an old friend they keep up with, and that friend has had feelings before for your partner. Would you be comfortable knowing your partner has a friendship with someone who has feelings for them before? And I agree with you that you should not welcome any advances made, but that may not stop the person from continuing to make advances on you. I think ultimately it is up to each couple's comfort levels. My husband and I implement this and we are very happy we do. It reduces the chance of Satan using friendships to tempt us.

I don't think it's exactly about the friends and who they are as people so much, I think it's more about the image each is portraying to the world. You don't want there to be ANY question as to the faithfulness and respect in the relationship. As a Christian, to stand strong, we must be bold in our faith and who we portray to be. We must demonstrate, practice and believe in everything we do is in honor of God's word. Example, If Sutton had a guy friend that Nate wasn't so much friends with, there would be rumors in this comment section about it and people would blow it out of proportion and would just be a distraction to the Godly Christian couple they are striving (and killing it I might add) to be. The enemy will extort any and everything he can so we must safeguard ourselves. My pastor preached on this idea one day and I totally understood what he was saying and why. It just kinda clicked. I am not good with words or ideas, and I don't think I can fully explain what I'm trying to. (I'm a new Christian so cut me some slack please! 😊)

We both are very steadfast in our boundaries and never crossed lines or had regrets... but for the last 8 months we stepped back and now we just hold hands and hug upon greeting and parting. It was just too long to allow more because over time you just love them more and more. The step back also helps us to truly get to know each other intentionally without distractions

Savvy 21 It is really tough-my boyfriend and I both are physical touch first for love languages. But there are other ways to show love- Words of Affirmation-compliments, let her know how much you love her, she looks nice, you enjoy your time with her, you can’t wait to be with her again, leave her little notes. Acts of Service-help her out, do her dishes/chores, clean off/wash her car, open doors for her, do her favors. Giving Gifts-flowers, chocolate, pay attention to what she loves, random gifts (not just on holidays/bdays/anniversaries), be thoughtful. Quality Time-take time to see what she loves and do it with her, have deep and open conversations with her, reach out to her and invite her to things. Go on surprise dates.

The whole “not being in a room together” is a hit far. And so is the hugging one. You can easily be in a healthy and Godly relationship without being isolated from one another. You will never get to know true discipline if you can’t sit in a room with your loved one. And you’ll never really get to know the actual person before you commit your entire life to them! But overall, great advice and video 👍🏼

There are SOME Christian couples that, it probably is a good idea to not be in a room together alone. You can absolutely deeply get to know someone without being alone in a room by... for example... talk on the phone for hours. Go on dates to the park and just sit and talk. You can be alone, in PUBLIC places, just not in some kind of private room. You say "you will never get to know true discipline" that's putting your faith in YOURSELF. You are trusting in your flesh, that it will not fail you, when the bible clearly states that our flesh is weak. We need to use discernment and wisdom.

My boyfriend and I have dated for over 3 years - we broke up in February and have just recently got back together, but our relationship is finally God centered. We were not sexually pure before each other, or together until recently when we both felt like God was trying to give us a bit of a wake up call. The more we grew together in our faith, the more we realized how important purity is to God, and really that we CAN turn our lives around if we want to whole heartedly follow Jesus. We started fresh, and man does it feel amazing to be truly abiding by His word. If you need a sign or a reason that you CAN repent after sin for many years, this is it!

Hopefully your still wrapped up in a meaningful and deep relationship with Jesus. There is attraction in that and immense value to a godly man there. If you're still desiring a relationship don't worry about the other person's expectations but what Jesus requires of you if you desire a relationship with a godly man- he will respect your boundaries. Compromise is extremely dangerous, so pray and obey the convictions of the Holy Spirit when He is warning you so you can avoid self-afflicting danger moving forward. No benefit in dwelling in the past but being resolute and determined to having sweeter communion with Christ and the Holy Spirit and in that- having the peace and discernment and faith to quench the fiery darts of wicked thoughts and temptations- but if you do sin we have an advocate. Jesus Christ the Righteous. I pray you find a godly man who appriciates your devotion, adoration and obedience to Jesus Christ the Lord.

She was my first and my only sexual partner at this point in my life and I'm now 29 almost. I regret it immensely. I grew up in a strong Christian household with an intact family, and I knew it was wrong from the start to engage in sexual activities yet I still did it. I hope one day I find an amazing Christian woman that forgives me for it. I wish that I was still a virgin, and I wish I could offer that to my future spouse. But I have turned from my sin and lust and have vowed to not commit sexual immorality ever again. The next time it happens will (God willing) be with my wife after we're married. 3:55 I'm sorry but I have to point out the complete disregard for women in abusive relationships. What you said is another form of victim blaming and removing the fault from the abuser. The reason most women can't leave is because they are 100% paralysed by the fear of being murdered! According to abc news, 80% of male killing female domestic homicides are when the partner is trying to leave. It's the victim blaming (along the lines of your statement) that removes all support networks so people can escape. Also, Very Often, the abusive and controlling behaviours don't manifest until After the relationship has been solidified, i.e. marriage. It would be really good for you and those who watch your channel to maybe do more in depth research about the issue and how you can help people escape these situations WITHOUT judgement or victim blaming.

Also, talking about how because the victim chose to have sex that their souls binded and that's why they couldn't leave is very frustrating. The sad truth is that a lot of the time they may not have chosen to have sex. People can be raped/pressured into sex when they aren't ready, even by their significant other, or even when they're married. Abusers thrive on having power over the victim, and they often use sex as a form of power, so I definitely wouldn't say that the victim stays because they chose to have sex. That was kind of hard to hear, even though I know they didn't mean to sound hurtful or like they're shaming victims.

AMEN!!! I love this so much. I didn't become a christian until a few years ago, but when I did I knew that I wanted to start over and truly honor God in my relationships and with my physical boundaries!! I prayed for over 2 years to be with a guy who wanted to wait for marriage, and God has blessed me with an amazing guy!! We have been together for almost one year, and have decided to wait until marriage for our first kiss on the lips (we've done cheek kisses lol) ! But It has been a HUGE struggle and BLESSING for sure, and we have definitely had to pray so much through it all especially because of our backgrounds. But I am so SOO grateful for what God has shown us and has taught us through it all, and for how faithful He is to us. And by God's grace, we will getting engaged soon! Something that one of my pastors told me is when looking at 1 Corin. 13:4-8, the very first thing that love is before anything else is PATIENT. If there isn't patience, there isn't love. And that has really helped us a lot. We aren't perfect in our journey, but Jesus is and that's made all the difference! :) Thanks for speaking up about these things! Praying that God continues to lead you both in this beautiful ministry!!

Saving your first kiss and hug for after marriage is a lovely wedding memory!!! I know in this world today it seems like a hard line to draw, but it's so worth it! Keep your hands off of each other. Satan will sneak in and lead to the next thing and the next thing. Christians need to draw hard lines in so many areas and people think it's extreme but it's just holding God's line and standing for right. Flee temptation... Don't start something you can't finish. God bless those who are drawing the line with purity and modesty and Biblical guidelines.

Thank you for making this video! I would also have to say that the way that social media is today that it influences is as Christians so easily that we can do wrong. I don't know if this would be a preference rather than a boundary but not to go public with your relationship before getting to know the person and how they are. Get to know each other before 'making it official'.

My mom has done a wonderful job raising me and teaching me about what the Bible says about all of this. I am committed to saving myself COMPLETELY for my husband God will give me. From sex to kissing (I really want to save my kiss until I am married), and even hugging (!) as you were saying, Nate. I totally agree with you. My mom has encouraged me to only give side hugs because of the reason you stated. This video is really confirming (again) that all of my morals, standards, and intentions are right and God-focused. So many of my friends (even Christian friends) do things so differently and are confused by my intentions and expectations of dating boundaries. But I just continue to go to the Bible to get my answers and confirm my expectations and morals.
