Got me on that one. 1960s era GI Joes is my weak point. Is why I had Ace as a Special Guest to talk about them. Even he admits that he doesn't know everything (but he does know a lot). 🙂

I always wanted Hasbro to produce a proper pair of boots for the Mountie. The RCMP going all the way back to the NWMP, wore brown riding boots with laces up about the top third of the boot. The RCMP have never worn black boots. Also, I always wondered if there was a difference between the plastics used in the brown and the black boots. I don't think I own a single pair of short brown boots that do not have a split rear...frustrating to say the least.

Great video. So I just acquired a heat stamped salesman sample Joe and I need some early brown boots. Any idea where I can get a pair?

i have a lot of vintage gi joe stuff . . me and my brother used to play with in the 70s.. i never thought any of it was worth much until i watched a youtube vid on the gi joes of the 60s and early 70s i still have an action army in all his glory still with the box and papers and a 1972 man of action in his box , never opened , lots of tm stuff , i didnt collect them they survived because me and my brother got the same toys one year she put some away , 7 different gi joes . and a six million dollar man ,,, she past away in 2018 and i found them in her closet top shelf . , my brother got the old house i got all the toys ..

I've been getting more into 12" Inch stuff (grew up on ARAH); I am just curious with the rubber boots (and rubber accessories in general); is there a way to keep them supple so they don't become hard? Also, I had the pleasure of meeting ACE at his booth at the last Joefest in Atl. Very nice guy! Also, I enjoyed his presentations at the last Joecon in 2018! He knows a lot! Looking forward to part II!! :)

If I may... I mean this with all respect but why can we not look at the boots the entire time ? We see next to no time and close up details ? There is no reason to see you guys looking at a pile of boots . Intro outro . But let the close ups talk and do side by side comparisons. Idk just for future reference flip the screen times lol Thank you so much guys. Sorry if i sound like a dik

Hmm, sorry about that. we only had one camera, so we shot the close ups after we filmed the main bit. We thought we allowed enough time for those close up shots. Maybe hit the pause button when watching to examine more closely? We're still kinda new to this filming thing.

I’m not sure if you will get this message in proper time. I had acquired a bag of 64 early kind of stuff from the thrift store. There was a white short pair of very soft rubber boots with actual laces marked Hong Kong in the group and I can’t find anything on them. Have you guys ever heard or seen of those boots.

I have not. However, your best bet is to go over to The Trenches or The Sandbox (my favorite 2 haunts) and ask there. Good solid knowledge base. Take pics too. :-)
