That's for sure 1980s $ 100 dollars filled your grocery cart, now 2024 will fill 1 1/2 shopping bags. Another great video of prices

That's far better than the $8 average for raccoon the last time I sold any. Bobcats are supposed to be worth something here if you catch one.

I believe you are right, Brother. Seems like it's a dying industry. We lost NAFA, local fur buyers are drying up. I remember when I was younger, we had 2 local merchants right in our village that bought fur. Both of them are gone. The good days are past. Thx for watching and have a good day my friend.

You faired pretty well considering. I remember getting an average of $80 for martin in 1982. Beaver was the money maker but lynx were worth around $450 with some fetching as much as $600, if memory serves me correctly. The bottom sure went out of coyote since Canada Goose caved in to the lobbyist crowd. Time is slipping by quickly & we'll see you on the line sooner than a shake of a lambs tail.

The 80s were some good years. A trapper could actually make a few dollars. Yes, I was just looking at some of my traps yesterday. Season is creeping up fast. Thx for watching brother. Hope you're having a good day.

Considering the prices, it’s obvious that you trap for the love of it and not to get rich. As a layman, it’s amazing how little is paid for these furs, especially knowing the amount of effort you put into trapping, and inevitably what the retail prices are. Anyways, it’s a pleasure to watch your videos and I hope you keep making them for a long while.

I do love trapping. This winter will be 43 years. Started when I was 10 and never looked back. I wish I could trap for another 43. Back when I was a kid, it was about the only way I could get some spending money. Nowadays I hope to break even. Thank you very much for watching my videos! As long as good people keep watching, I will try my best to keep making them. Thx again my friend. Best wishes to you.

I considered trying trapping, but the distance I would have to drive and the time it would take would have put me way in the hole. I live trap some nuisance animals around town. Or some for food. No one within a couple hundred miles of me buys furs anmore.

That is sad that the fur buyers are dwindling but it's true. I'm lucky that I trap right on my ranch. If I had to drive for a couple hours to get to a trapline, it would not be worth it. I really do enjoy it though! Thx for watching.

Good Afternoon! Over all, I'd say you did really well. HA! WHACKED A WEASEL WITH A HOCKY STICK!! Not many folks can say that! No the "High Priced Beaver" are not high. I'm the same way. I like trapping for beaver, but it's not a good price. I read where "Some trapper averages the great price of $40 per beaver if you add the castor price".....Ha! Nope, we ain't gunna get rich on that! But, I'll be out there after them this Winter just the same.....

Weasel with a hockey stick, can't get much more Canadian than that. Those big Beaver should be $100 or more. The price on some of the Critters is headed in the right direction though. I will be out there again too! As long as I am able. Thx for watching Gary. Best wishes to you folks!

Ya, but I'm not really making much. I'm lucky in the sense that I trap right at home on the ranch. If I had to load up a snowmobile on a trailer and pull it with my pickup for 2-3 hours to get to a trapline somewhere, I would be losing money for sure. Thx for watching my friend.

There was a time when a trapper could go back into the bush for the winter. Sell his furs in the spring, and not have to work for the rest of the year. Heck, they made more money than a lot of people that had regular jobs back then. Wouldn't it be great if those days came back but we know they never will. But yes, a little uptick in prices would be nice! Thx for stopping in brother. You folks have a nice weekend.

@McGieHomesteadAdventures , It could change at some point. I remember a few years back, getting $150- $175 for Otter. The prices on the short fur has come up a little this last season. Hope it comes up more since the price has went out of Coyotes. It keeps changing so I try to catch what is selling higher. Thx for watching brother.

Prices may not be as good as they once were but remember just 2-3 years ago fisher and otter were fetching 20-30$ for the good ones. Beaver isn’t great but it’s better than it was. Those coyote prices are a joke. Your dawgs are easily worth 100$ a piece. Northwestern coyotes are the very best you’ll find anywhere. Let’s hope for an uptick in the coyote prices. As always I enjoy the show and your efforts. Let’s hope for even higher prices this year👍👍
