Today Dr. Taylor Martin, an oceanographer with King County discusses the state of the water in Puget Sound, focusing on the Central Basin. Dr. Martin will provide details about a carefully outfitted buoy which for fifteen years has collected data on Puget Sound water and atmospheric conditions every 15 minutes, including information about the “ghost shrimp” and phytoplankton whose numbers and health are key to the entire food chain. There will be time for questions and answers afterwards.
