Is the modest damage of Kyogre worth not outspeeding things like Protosynthesis Max speed Flutter, Scarf Koraiden/MIraidon and maybe Electric Terrain Iron Bundle? Haven't really looked into this format yet, but those seem to be some risky speed tiers to not hit under Tailwind, but perhaps they arent common? I felt like something along the lines of Icy Wind Iron Bundle (with either covert cloak or focus sash) wouldn't be uncommon on hyper offense Miraidon teams, due to electric terrain. And Modest Kyogre does not outspeed Booster Bundle in Tailwind and conseqeuntly doesnt outspeed Timid MIraidon after an Icy Wind drop. Anyway, always good to see a "back to the basics" team for the beginning of the format, and there is little as simplistic yet effective as the big fish clicking big water moves!

You have ways to play around the miraidon teams. Did you see the sample battle I posted? If you tera the kyogre, the miraidon does very little and ice beam will chunk it immensely. Iron bundle with for sure use cover cloak and sash 100% of course, but when you have the likes of AV Archeludon clicking electro shots boosted in terrain, the bundle can't match up. Speed Tiers are important for sure but if you can't break the opponent even by outspeeding then it won't mean much. This is where you can use scary face like I showed in the games or even scarf kyogre if it means more later on. This is an early build.

@@CloverBells I had just finished the video (I had indeed not yet watched the battles), and the Tera indeed makes the Miraidon matchup quite a lot more managable, if not favourable. I'm always a bit hesitant with the "Tera greatly improves this matchup" rethoric but I guess that is what Tera if for after all, and who better to use your Tera on than your strong Restricted. Thanks for the elaborate reply!

Would wo chien find a spot here? Resists Calreyx-shadow, grass typing will benefit from Kyogre's rain against fire types and in return wo chien ability lowers phy attacks, giving kyogre more chance to survive phy attacks

Heyy, i was planning on a team, what you think of after you, friend guard, Clefairy in case for trick room, im also unsure about helping hand or heal pulse, And a small doubt, im unsure of choosing Pachirisu or Raichu, to redirect electric, cuz with Raichu you have lighting rod and fake out, but Pachirisu has follow me so when it teras in fairy Miraidon can't draco meteor in the other sloot.

Not here. I think the best replacement for Tornadus is Grimmsnarl screens for damage mitigation and the trick room matchup. This team as it is was good enough for Day 2 at NAIC as piloted by my friend~

What would u consider running over amoongus? I could try rillaboom but i feel like i'd miss a redirector. What about ogerpon water?
@devoid5099
5 ай бұрын
I imagine both of those could work. Ogerpon-W would make the team a little high on water types but it’s not necessarily bad, it would get a boosted Ivy cudgel in the rain. However Amoongus is gonna help protect your water types the most since it can redirect and resist any grass and electric moves headed towards Kyogre/Urshifu. That being said, I’m sure the team would be fine with Ogerpon or Rillaboom if they suit your play style better!

I also refuse to use amoongus. But the unique answer I found was sinistea. Ghost type means no takeout and it gets redirection. You could also use bulky ogerpon though

I mean I am just an outsider looking into the VGC scene and don't really have an insight, but I feel like Walking Wake could be a very good option in Rain, Hydro Steam is boosted just as much in the Rain as in the Sun. It threatens both Sun-setters trying to switch into Kyogre and also gets access to Hurricane in the Rain. I can imagine it being just kinda awkward to make a functioning team supporting both Kyogre and Walking Wake as you double up on the Water typing and there are probably still a bunch of good switch ins. However I have looked around and I am a bit baffled that nobody even seems to try the concept. I would love to hear your thoughts on it, is there something obvious I am missing here?
@CloverBells

It's a waste. Better to have urshifu in that slot. Walking Wake does much better in the sun because of photosynthesis and then you can use the rain from opposing rain teams against them. Walking Wake doesn't add enough value on a kyogre rain. It's a redundant slot
@hamdepaf6686

@@CloverBells I guess, but the idea was that Walking Wake while working in the rain and being able to kinda use the rain against the Rain teams, doesn't really have the coverage to hit Rain mons. While it is very detrimental for any Sun Pokemon expecting to have a pseudo water resistance from the Sun. But I can see that having a physical rain attacker is just better, just because you got special water damage for days already. And there are prob also much better users for Hurricane alongside Kyogre.

What about Sinistcha instead of Amoonguss? I know Amoonguss is busted but Sinistcha offers good support with it's ability, Strength Sap, Matcha Gotcha and also Rage Powder. I just began to play Pokemon after 6 years so I'm kinda getting up to date. Love your vids.

What are EV bumps?
@CloverBells
5 ай бұрын
In pokemon, when you invest your vitamins to increase a stat, usually it goes up by 1 point. However, in the natured stat that you chose (ex: adamant), you'll see a "bump" in that stat only when you invest EVs. There are 3 distinct points within the 252 bar where the stat will increase by 2 points instead of one. Look at Heatran and make it modest. You'll see that as you move the slider and get it to +76 the special attack increases by 2 points instead of one! Amazing! From here, the rule is that for every 80 EVs invested after the first bump, you'll see it again. So +156 and +236 investment in special attack you'll see the 2nd and 3rd bump. Hopefully this helps!
