Hi love! I see where you’re coming from with this. We, as believers have to always be accepting of God’s will in a situation. But I can think of two specific circumstances where Jesus and David both prayed for a specific outcome while yielding to Gods will. David mourned and prayed while his baby son was ill, but once he died, “David got up from the ground. He washed and anointed himself, changed his clothes, went to the Lord’s house and worshipped.” 2Sam 12:20 And the Jesus, who knew Gods will for Him all along, still prayed and pleaded with God that the cup would pass from Him, “And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” Matt 26:39ff So , I guess what I’m saying is, we can pray and accept God’s will, and we can pray and seek a desired outcome. I don’t know that’s it’s a faith problem to ask specifically for things, since we don’t know God’s will. I’m sorry your friend is going through such a hard time.

Hiiii !! I guess maybe a part of me is afraid to ask for something specifically because I feel like once I have my own will set on something (and my hopes up), I am then more hesitant to hand it fully over to the Lord - if that makes sense. This situation is definitely a hard one because obviously you want a specific (positive) outcome but you always want to be open to whatever is His will. What you’re saying makes total sense and the scripture really helps, though. I just never want to treat God like a genie and ask for something specific and then feel let down when it doesn’t go my way. It’s hard to explain and I feel like I didn’t do great articulating it in the video but again your comment is so helpful. Thank you:)
