Nope, Jessica is right. Clothes that are not dirty but have been worn go to the "stasis" area, not back into the closet (as we call it here in the states) or drawer. For one thing, they can air out for re-wearing. For another, you don't put "the street" next to freshly laundered clothes, even if the street is technically only around the house. However, I will say clothes should stay in stasis only a day or two. If you haven't worn them by then, go ahead and put them in the laundry.
@tunesquicklee

100% this. after i change into my home clothes, i put my outdoor clothes on a chair so i can wear it another day. perks of college classes being MWF or TR means i can wear the same outfit 2 days in a row, techincally.

As a counterpoint, washing clothes that aren't dirty is bad for the clothes (because they get worn out much, much faster) and VERY bad for the environment (use of energy, detergents and release of microplastics for synthetic fabrics). It's very wasteful to wash clothes that don't need it, just because they've been worn once.

@@ViveMeorLeti I think it depends on what you consider dirty/not dirty, though. Regardless, the street clothes have been worn for a chunk of time. It's not like a brief stint at trying on them. It can be something like being worn for a grocery trip or to go on a walk or something like that. Imo street clothes are somewhat dirty, but they're not dirty enough that I would want to throw them in the wash. It's not like you're getting completely clean clothes and throwing them in the wash, chances are there's something on the clothes themselves (even if it's as simple as sweat).

@Jessica I've paused at five minutes in to talk to you about driving. I'm an ex London bus driver from back when there were many weeks of training. Over forty years of driving and have helped a good few people learn to drive and improve their skills. Also have ME/CFS so totally understand how hard it must be to have two hour lessons, never come across that before... (edit: btw I find I can get hyperactive when I'm particularly exhausted, is that what was happening there with you? It really annoys me that if I'm not careful it just blows my remaining energy in one go!) Back to driving... What is happening to you though is, you'll be amazed to discover....you're learning! What you describe is exactly what happens to most learners it's not a linear curve. This is because it's both a mental and a physical skill to learn, similar to playing the piano, which I also do and have taught. Just remember this: the worse you feel the lesson has gone, the more you've learnt. Your brain will process what's happened, next time you're confronted with a similar set of issues your brain will process a bit more. The issues are never completely replicated though so because each time is slightly different it feels like you're taking a long time to learn or even like you're taking a retrograde step. You're not, it's just because of these variations that have to be factored in. Regarding the sitting beside a driver for ten years....my wife sat beside me and navigated for thirty years before she took lessons in her fifties. She's dyspraxic and not patient but passed first time after ten or maybe fifteen weekly lessons of an hour. (ME memory, lack thereof!) Hope this helps you in return for all you've done for me xx Edit: Ah that was fun, loved how much Rupert enjoyed choosing...though I have no idea about the choices as we are both more in the Claudia style of dressing but way less cool. I only feel comfortable in men's clothes too although I do shop for my wife's clothes as she hates clothes shopping but I could pretty much bring home a sack and she wouldn't notice 😂 I can't remember who chose the clothes in the "swapping looks" video but an updated one would be good maybe compare each others choices.... We shall look forward to it as we do all your videos 👍🥰💕

A lovely and very helpful comment (I'm also learning to drive, in my 30s!). On the 2 hour lessons - they're common where I am too. The reason is because the nearest test centre is so far away (half an hour + in my case) so in order to get to the area where the test will be, so you can practice on those roads, it has to be 2 hours. Obviously not as important in the very early stages when you're just learning the basics, but needed as the test approaches, and I think most instructors here just do 2 hours as standard because of this.
@judebrown4103

@@kpwxx ah, now that makes sense and it's such a great idea to practice on the roads where you'll be tested. It's just occurred to me that the volume of traffic to be negotiated these days would probably easily use up an hour too. Of course when I've taken young drivers out informally I've been able to pick days and times with the best traffic conditions. Thanks for helping me piece together the answer to that mystery and for your kind words.🙏 Very best wishes for your successful transition to becoming a driver. Remember C.A.T concentrate, anticipate and tolerate. That from my late dad who taught people to drive many and varied vehicles during the second world war. Always found that great mantra. 👍

What you're describing about driving is super common, definiely don't be too hard on yourself! It's because driving needs a careful balance of paying attention without overthinking , everything needs to be smooth (stops, accelerations, turns) to match the flow of traffic, and once one thing goes wrong it is easy to get in your head and hesitate, or move less smoothly and suddenly every little decision in driving is going wrong. My best advice would be to find a way to reset. Whether it is to pull over, get out and back in and sya you have a new session, or even to put some music on or find an empty parking lot or track to just drive in a circle which is something that can't really be messed up - anything to help get you out of your head. Best of luck with it!

I had to pause the video and comment on what Jessica expressed after her driving lesson! This is the effect of perfectionism. It is exactly because of the fear/dislike of failure that we strive for perfection in the things we do, especially things we care about. If we see being not perfect as failure, then when we aren't perfect, we stop putting in effort. By reframing "not perfect" to "practise" or "everyone makes mistakes", we can lessen this fear response and work on embracing the process of learning!

Learning to Drive! I passed my test in January, had the same problem with once one thing had gone wrong I'd get really mad at myself and the rest of the lesson would feel like a write off. The best thing I can suggest is to really practice taking a single deep breath and visualising breathing your frustration out (every day, not just while driving). It helped, still got mad at myself but I could move past it enough to have another go and not write off the rest of the lesson. Taking 10 minutes before the lesson to get into a good headspace also helped, but whether or not you get chance for this might be a different story. It absolutely sounds super obvious but it did help me, used on the test when I passed. Best of luck with your driving, sending all the patience and good driving wishes your way !

Deaf/ Hoh tip for driving lessons: get a radio aid and put it on the instructor, especially if your better ear is on the other side of the instructor. Had the same issue with learning to drive - didn't feel ready my first 2 goes at the test and had the nervous reaction to anything going wrong. Third time though.... something had just clicked and I felt much more able to respond to other people messing up on the road, or not feeling 100% perfect - that time I passed AND felt like I could drive on my own. It's very worth it to pace yourself and know that it takes time for your brain to comprehend that it can be safe going faster than it was designed to move at aha! It takes a while longer for some people, but it's better to get to that point as a learner rather than do what my sister did and pass to fast then freak out when on her own (no crash just a terrible hill start that made her panic), and be too spooked to get behind the wheel again.

I agree with Jessica! If I wear an article of clothing once, it IS dirty enough to not be put back in with all my clean clothes, but NOT dirty enough to be washed quite yet so it's left out. I personally have a futon in my office that tends to be my "clothing horse".

I feel you on the driving lessons! I hate the world's dependance on cars, but unfortunately a lot of jobs in my field require you to be able to drive.
