In regards to the alternative leveling method suggested with Crystalline Conflict, Scerttle did some research for me! Apparently, WITH the "Road to 80" buff doubling the experience gain, we are talking about 6% of a level per fight. This means without any exp bonuses that apply, it would be just 3%, meaning around 34 Crystalline Conflict matches for a single level. Clearly, this suggests using Crystalline Conflict for leveling a job is only even remotely worthwhile if you planned to both play Crystalline Conflict anyway, but also that you intended to play that specific job in Crystalline Conflict anyway! Unfortunate discovery, but better to know than not!

A tip to help your Hunts and FATEs: Bring your Chocobo Companion! This was suggested by Freddie Johansson and I do think it is a great idea as it can offset the lack of healing options on some jobs, and in general, while your companion does not add MUCH in terms of damage, it is still more than nothing!

That is actually a really good point! That is my mistake, I regularly forget about my own Chocobo companion so I suppose it was bound to happen that I'd forget here! You are absolutely right, and if you are trying to level your Chocobo Companion, it gains an immense amount of Experience per killin FATEs with a lot of mobs too! At the very least I will add on your suggestion to my pinned comment so some players might still get the tip highlighted!

-For hunts you can open the recommended tab and set it to hunts, and it will show what targets you have left in that zone. -Side Quests in ShB and EW are synced quests and not linked to the job that accepted it. So you can do these side quests on any job and turn them in on a job you want to level. They only grant about 2-3% of a level per(XP gain scales down the higher level you are) so not efficient, but can be an option doing them alongside MSQ if you are a completionist/like doing side quests. -Road to 80 effects multipliers. So using XP boosts are even more impactful when you have the buff. -Since dungeons unlock at odd levels, it can be beneficial to save roulettes/dailies/weekly turn-ins for even levels as dungeon XP scales better when at level. More of a min-max type thing so not really important.

I recently finished 5.0 and I liked how the Job Quests encourage you to level four job through the MSQ. I had a good enough time with that I figured I’d go back and bring up some other jobs. I happen to have three “batches” at different levels (a group of jobs at 65, a group at 60, a group at 57). In a given play session I’ll typically rotate duties & hunting with one of those groups. What I learned from this is that beast tribes are viable from lvl 50 on. So I can add those quests to my gameplay!

I'm an extremely recent player and I still didn't even finish MSQ on my main because I don't want to rush it (Summoner, currently on 1/3 of Stormblood), but I wanted the Unicorn mount and decided to level up Conjurer to 30 doing FATEs after my Hunting Log ran out, oh god, that was awful (but still better than levequests and side quests). It took me a while to figure out that I could benefit from roulette in my alts even after getting the Leveling bonus daily on my main, because everything I found online only suggested POTD and I didn't want to tackle that yet. What I normally do is daily roulettes and then do level appropriate dungeons. By the time I can do Shb content, I start weaving in fates as well either between dungeons or instead of dungeons. I brought Gunbreaker from about 67 to 90 with much of it being in fates in Shb and Endwalker. Endwalker fates alone can easily level you fast. I did like 2 levels or so just in Thavnair fates when my GNB was lvl 83 when starting and it didn’t take all that long, along with me working on gemstones anyways to pick up items for the FC house that only I am able to get (I have rank 3 with all fates) As of today I’ve been playing FFXIV for 7 months, and I didn’t start leveling any other jobs until I was almost completely done with MSQ, now I have 4 lvl 90 jobs (BLM, RPR, SGE, GNB) and a lvl 70 BLU and currently working on DNC which is 65 (only just started it properly a couple of days ago and haven’t been intensive leveling it). Indeed, as you suggest, FATEs are also very good experience! The main reason I suggest doing FATEs after the other open world options is simply because you can do FATEs forever if that is what you would like to do! ^^ Although, from my personal experience, I felt that, assuming you were in level appropriate zones, Tribes and Hunts give the same or more experience than FATEs, without the randomness of FATE spawning and different clear speeds and stuff like that! There are a lot of factors to consider, but yes, once you get to Shadowbringers and beyond, FATEs start to be very nice due to the Bicolor Gemstones! :D

This is some good information. Especially the part about the beast tribes. Some of that stuff I didn't know. Also, the part about skipping roulettes is very true. Doing something you don't enjoy doing is not only going to affect your will to play, but also may affect your ability to play, since any frustrations will be amplified. Also, talking about the egg thing reminded me of the large quantity of oranges in my inventory. Very nice video! I need to add the following points: Queue times for Alliance raids as dps is not that bad, because they require 5 players for every 8 players, while Trials and Raids require 4 players for every 8 players. In addition average queue time for daily roulettes as dps should be around 10-15 minutes, which is ok. MSQ roulettes might be the best ones. Praetorium, especially, is a long roulette (it takes almost 30min to complete) but but it gives up around 75% of a level as experience! FInally, when a player wants to reduce the queue time for specific dungeons, he can select not one, but two dungeons closest to his level. For example, if someone is 76 lvl, he can select a 73lvl and a 75lvl dungeons simultaneously, if he is is 87 lvl, he can select a 85lvl and a 87lvl dungeons, etc...!! Thank you for this guide, it's very nice!!!
@CaetsuChaijiCh
Жыл бұрын
Those are some good suggestions for reducing wait time! I will add my perspective to each one: That is absolutely correct - Alliance Raid queues are more reasonable for DPS, which also is a factor! When I was leveling my jobs and using this particular method, I generally wouldn't run out of Hunts and Tribes to do while doing my roulettes so the exact difference in queue times on the different roulettes didn't make a huge difference to me! But you are absolutely right that Alliance would be significantly faster for a DPS! (Not to mention how commonly it is the adventurer in need recently!) Indeed, MSQ roulette does give the most EXP per run out of all of them, but as you say, because of the time investment, it is a little less valuable. A lot of players also feel extremely bored when doing it which also plays into the enjoyment aspect ^^ Queueing for multiple dungeons to reduce the overall queue time is definitely also an option, but I felt it was very complicated to explain and I am sure those impatient enough might do something similar to how you described themselves! The reason it is complicated to explain is that, if you are level 76, you could queue for 75, 73, and 71 to reduce your queue time. But if you are only level 72, then the difference in EXP from a level 69 dungeon, compared to a 71 dungeon, is very large, and in that scenario it would be better to just wait the extra minutes for the 71 dungeon in my opinion :-) And thank you! I am glad to hear you like it! :D

I'd argue that Guildhest roulette is worth doing thrice a week if you have a little time after doing Levelling, Trials, Alliance and Normal Raids. While the EXP is completely insignificant they take essentially no time (Bockman, the most common guildhest, takes less than a minute), and there's two Challenge Log entries that give fairly good EXP for three and ten Guildhests completed. Ten is usually not worth grinding for, but three is very, very easy to get to and gives EXP comparable to a dungeon boss kill. My strategy is to queue for the first two days of guildhests with whatever role is adventurer in need, just to get through the queue quicker and get a tiny bit extra EXP, and then queue for the third day on whatever job I'm actually focusing on leveling to get the challenge log EXP.
@CaetsuChaijiCh

That is a very good tip! I usually never actually did Guildhests when I was leveling jobs, so little that I never even realized there were challenge log things for them until after I maxed out all jobs! On that note, I had no good opportunity to figure out how much exp the challenges gave (whether they scaled with level at all, or were as bad as Guildhests themselves!) But if they give scaling exp, then 3 of them sounds very manageable yes!

As someone who recently transferred from Sargatanas to Tonberry, (I still prefer my Sargatanas) the server activity does affect where you need to grind as well. For example, In Sargatanas, there aren't issues in grinding for an alt to hit 1 to 70. Dungeons and Duties are enough even if you are DPS. Sure it may take an extra 3-6mins of wait time for DPS players but its way better compared to how it is with Tonberry. In Tonberry server, people BARELY do the duties there. I skipped the MSQ to Endwalker as I didn't want to redo the story all over again (since i've done it in Sargatanas). The said action i took showed me how bad it is for new players/starting fresh players in that server. Sure, some would say "bring your friend with you or your FC-mates with you" but that still doesn't excuse the lack of users running the dungeons/duties. Fates are not ran often as often there compared to Sargatanas. It really ruins the game for me as it reminds me of the 2013-2015-ish times of FFXIV wherein leveling was a pain and troublesome activity. I'll be focusing on doing Palace of the Dead and Heaven on High but its not fun when your options are limited because server activity is not there for new or world crossing players who decided to start new/fresh.

CC seems to pay out better early on in an expansions levels, but later on slows down. For example. I basically only leveled paladin through doing CC, at level 69 i was getting 100k exp for a win. Maxed out tribals in stormblood give 80k per quest. Only really worth it if you truly have nothing to level with and you're not leveled too far into an expansion where its about 0.04% of a level. ( 27 wins at CC to go from 69 to 70 ) unless you're on road to 80 which would get you double that. ( 12 wins )
@CaetsuChaijiCh

Thank you for adding your observations Kyle! That is a very interesting detail about CC having an unusual scaling that peaks at the start of an expansions level range and then drops off. The main benefit of Tribal Quests is that they tend to take very few minutes. If you are significantly overleveled for the specific tribe then the exp not scaling beyond its expansion really hurts the value you get out of it, but the benefit here is that you can at least do tribe quests while queued for a roulette or specific dungeon 😊 From what I can see, given the observations shared with me through the comments on this video, even with Road to 80, CC is simply not worth using as a leveling method unless you wanted to play CC anyway. What I mean by that is of course that if you love to play CC, then the Exp reward is just a bonus!

The vast majority of exp buffs only apply to enemies defeated meaning it's more efficient to grind fates if you have these buffs this is meals squadrons exp buff heat of battle and rested. It all only applies to enemies defeated so dont eat food if you are doing a dungeon (unless the boss is the exp you are gunning for) but for fates these buffs work very well the thing that sucks is fates before shb suck with exp gained for completion but shb and ew this is very good . When I made my alt I found that I was level 50 by the time I hit Brayflox (road to 80 is obscene), so it was nice to just get the ilevel 110 gear and not have to worry about gear for the rest of ARR. When you hit 60 you can get the Garo gear which is ilevel 235, which isn't TOO far behind the shire gear at ilevel 270.

Just did some testing. I can't comment at lower levels, but at level 73 one CC match gives approximately 6% of a level with road to 80. So I guess that's about 80 minutes of gameplay for a single level? I'm not sure how this stacks up to fates and other grindable methods.

Recently because of max level relic weapons requiring a large quantity of astronomy tomestones, I've noticed on my data center (chaos) that dps very regularly are in need for most queues too. However five minutes is still enough to do a tribe quest or two, where a tank or healer typically has less than a minute 😊 at least in my experience!

this is good and all but you should of added bozja, u can easily hit cap in a few hours during times that its active.
@CaetsuChaijiCh

Bozja is included in the alternative leveling strategies at the end because I am aware of the efficiency of bozja. But directly suggesting bozja as the main way to level would also be contradictory to my explanation about Frontline, namely that playing it lents little opportunities to actually play the job you want to level and learn the skills as you go 😊 (because you would be stuck to level 80, and so get no experience with level 82+ actions and traits) Thank you for your input anyway though!

@CaetsuChaijiCh

Poetics is great, but if you cannot collect a set of gear before reaching the next point. You can buy high quality gear (signified with a golden flash on the time icon) at the highest item level available at the level you reach. For example, while at level 50 you can get item level 130 poetics gear, you can also buy or craft item level 115 gear, through the market board. The reason it is important to get it high quality, is because normal quality (bought at a regular vendor typically) is 10% weaker! 😅

The exp from potd depends on which floors you complete and it being somewhat fixed means the value of the content for leveling quickly drops off after level 60. Furthermore, only spamming floor 51-60 is done because these floors have the shortest queues, and so can be rushed through the easiest. The main benefit of potd is that you don't need gear and you don't need a tank or healer, but if the queues are just slightly significant then all this becomes irrelevant, because the exp is not as good as doing roulettes. 😊

I am guessing you refer to how players do old raids while being way over leveled? If that is what you mean, raids and things like extreme content isn't actually intended to be part of the leveling experience itself. And so a lot of people prefer to just run it down while over leveled to get the stories 😊 I do understand what you mean in general though, you only get to level up each character once, so there is something to taking your time and savoring it 😊

I totally understand, I am replaying the game on a new character on stream, and I am about 12 levels ahead myself right now, leading to some weird stuff at times 😅 One way you can work around this is to pick up a new job and level that up to where your main quest is at, so you return to following the story with your level! Although you may need to use a few jobs at once to make sure you stay near to the story in level 😊 spread the experience out you know? 😉 And don't worry about the fact the subject is a little off, this is still about leveling on a leveling guide video so that is totally fine!

@@CaetsuChaijiCh sorry, *are the most efficient, not ''and the most efficient''. I myself actually had to plan unlocking new classes around the other activities to not waste millions of exp, like in the southern front.
@CaetsuChaijiCh
Жыл бұрын
@@Henri-email-archive Ah yes of course! If you are trying to maximize completion of the game as a whole! Then you are absolutely right, Roulettes and other daily activities don't really get you anywhere in terms of unlocking or progressing anything new. Maybe in some excessively specific ways like accessing gear drops from dungeons, but since you can't collect everything that is a bit moot. I had not given much thought to efficiency in that aspect, as I was thinking mainly in the way of maximizing your time efficiency if that makes sense. If you have limited time to play, and want to gain a few levels, I would say the things I suggested would be good for that specific goal, but if you also want to progress a ton of other things without wasting EXP, then your way is better 😁 Thank you for elaborating!
