Wouldn't the blocks the bolts go through be stronger if the bolts were perpendicular to the grain of the wood instead of parallel to it?

I have a workbench on locking caster wheels...could I mount 4 of these and use a drill to make my table completely stationary and level? Thing is...when I wheel my work bench up against the wall, the slope of my garage floor makes one wheel facing me NOT touch the ground. Making it wobble when it's against the wall...I'm looking for a solution that is quickly adjustable so I can use a drill and lower a 'level foot' down to touch the ground so my bench doesn't move.

Bill, I love the custom leveling feet for your workbench. if I wanted to do this for a future workbench to use in my driveway, would I cut the feet at an angle to account for the driveway slope?

This is fantastic! Just the kind of DIY leveling I was looking for. I was just wondering, what purpose does the nut in the middle serve, as in, why not just put the bolt into the tee nut? What am I missing? Thanks.

Great design. I just built a new workbench/router table to replace my 30 year old one. I have wheels on it so I can use as an out/in-feed table for table saw or track saw work. The commercial levelers don't stand up to the weight and the hex drive is to close to the leg to allow for easy adjustments. With the limited threads...what is you maximum travel? Thank you very much!!

Clever design! I like the idea of being able to access the adjuster from the top easily. And, as far as a guy not straining his gut? I'm all for it!

This is amazing. I am creating a special tray for my grandma's walker. I am having a hard time getting correct measurements for the legs of it. My dad suggested putting screws in to act as levelers, which is great, but I think it would be easier to be able to adjust it from the top. I need to do what you did on a smaller scale. Thank you so much for coming up with this idea and sharing it with us.

Bill, Looks like a great design. I’m curious how stable is it compared to having the table solid in the ground? If you were to have a vise mounted to your table do you feel like it’s still stable enough the saw or plane a board?

Yes lt is still very stable.

That worked very nicely! I especially like the fact that you can make adjustments from the top side as opposed to from the underside.( easier for us old guys) Good design Bill....

I absolutely love that design and plan on using it. Side question, what have you found to be the optimal bench height?
@TurntasticWoodDesigns
5 жыл бұрын
Mark Blakely I think that will depend on the person. 30 inches is comfortable for me, but I am quite short.
