I love how many sizes they offer for hex tiles. Also random thought, I saw that Pikoko was mentioned in a trick taking article in the spring issue of Senet magazine. I just thought that was really cool.

I really appreciate this video showing how to use LaunchLabs. Ive been setting up two projects to be printed with LaunchLabs and this answered many little question if I was doing this properly. Cheers!

This is so cool! I'm working on a board game for just my friends and this will bump up the quality the perfect amount for a good price! Thanks Adam!

Thanks! I honestly think it’s my best game yet (with a lot of help from my co-designer Rob Fisher).

Love your videos, Adam. I have not yet found videos of you creating the art files using Gimp or AI placeholder art. This would be a great topic for people like me who are not graphically inclined yet want a nice prototype or even just designing games for friends and family use. On another note, will you be attending Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg in a few weeks? I'd love to buy you a coffee as a thanks for your hard work!

Thanks! I won’t be in Nuremberg though. Next convention will probably be UKGE. I probably won’t make videos around creating art files - it’s not really an area of expertise for me - it’s basically self-taught and I’m very ignorant of how to use these programmes properly.

Is the postage from the US just not prohibitively expensive now?

I guess it depends on the size of the product, how many units in the package, how quickly you want it to arrive, and where you’re located. I’ve found Launch Tabletop’s shipping to be very reasonable.

@@AdaminWales also in Wales and I'd just be looking for a couple of prototypes at a time really. I'm just starting out on the design journey.

Do they put inserts into the box or is it just loose ? I couldn't see an option to add a box insert to a project so just wondered if they add them automatically. Thanks
@AdaminWales

I’ve had a mixed experience with this. Most of the prototypes I’ve ordered have had cardboard inserts (there is no option to add one so it’s been a nice surprise). But one prototype did not come with an insert. I guess it comes down to the Launch Lab team’s judgement about what fits in the box when all the components are taken into account. The team are very responsive and approachable so I would email them directly if you want clarification or something specific.

@@AdaminWales Thanks for the info. I just found your channel a couple of weeks ago and have enjoyed watching your videos. It's definitely inspired me to create a prototype of an idea I had. Keep up the good work.

Is this service suitable for say taking someone else's pnp into a more finished product (for own use)? I love pnp's but have been looking for a service that will let me create better play experiences than paper in sleeve, laminating, or sticking acetate to printed paper.

I don't know the answer to this! I guess it depends on whether there is copyright attached to the print and play (in which case, if you don't own it, you can't print it). Launch Tabletop have a good Facebook group where you could ask that sort of question.

Is Midjourney ok to develop finished art for self publishers?
@AdaminWales
Жыл бұрын
No publisher has openly used it - though some seem to have used it in crowdfunded games and failed to mention it. Kickstarter now requires use of AI to be disclosed. The ethics debate rages online. It’s a hot topic and splits opinion. Legality is also being challenged in the courts. Using AI in a finished product is likely to create enough backlash to sink a game. Personally, I’m comfortable using it for prototypes - and for my own personal use (creating unique items, presentations, gifts) - but I wouldn’t use it for a final product or anything which is to be sold. I will be telling publishers that they cannot use any of the AI assets which I have generated, should my games be picked up.
