So i already have Dyson TP7A a.k.a Dyson Purifier Cool Autoreact. So this is an amazing purifier with incredible build quality and sensors. The drawback is the cost and how much air it processes for that cost. I ordered a levoit 600S which just arrived a couple hours ago and i just set it up. I am impressed with the build and how it has an app, and the functions of this. However i was disappointed that the unit and the app only display info on PM2.5. The Dyson displays air quality for AIA, PM2.5, PM10, CO2, VOC and will automatically increase fan speed when any of these are detected to have increased. Example. I recently noticed the Dyson increases fan speed when I use hand sanitiser nearby. the VOC jumps up hugely on the sensor it it works hard to purify the air. I used hand sanitiser near the Levoit 600S and it didnt register a need to power up the fans. With this in mind, I will use the Levoit 600S as a general high efficiency, high volume air cleaner and I will use the Dyson to more accurately/sensitively check for changes in AIA, PM10, CO2, VOC in certain rooms as and when needed. I expected the Levoit to sense AIA, PM10, CO2, VOC as well but turns out it doesn't, so do keep this in mind when purchasing. The other unit i was considering was the Philips 3000i/3033 but it is double the price of the Levoit 600s and people say the app isnt very user friendly with constant connection issues. This unit does display sensor readings for IAI, PM2.5 and Gas.

When you click on the center of the fan in the app, it brings up a air quality graph overtime. I wish they would add a graph button to the UI because the feature is easily missed. I talked my Dad into buying a 300S. He lit up his smoking pipe and the fan kicked into high for a few minutes automatically. He was impressed. The auto feature is well worth the purchase. It's normally very quiet until it senses some kind of smoke in the room.

Thanks for the review!~ The app looks awesome too. I live in a very dusty appartment near a highway and my Winix 5500-2 on its own isn't enough to fully eliminate sneeziness/dust from accumulating in the ~400sqft living room (though it helps substantially, but I don't want to leave it on Turbo all the time... too loud). So I bought a Blueair 211+ Auto to supplement the Winix. And really liked its air purifying capabilities and design, but returned it after 2 weeks due to the rancid odor its carbon filter produces (see youtube video "The blueair filter problem"). The odor didn't dissipate in 2 weeks so had to return it during the return window. I am now looking for alternatives. Debating between Levoit and Coway 1512HH. As someone who watched your prior Core 400S video I had a few questions was hoping you could answer: 1) What are the noise levels (dB) of this unit at the various fan levels? Is it quieter compared to the Blueair 211+ Auto at comparable settings, or at least no louder? 2) Does this have the same "motor whine" issue you noted about the Core 400S, or has that been resolved with this model? 3) Do you know if the sensor the device uses for adjusting the fan level when in "Auto " mode is more for dust particles or for odors (or both)? And is it possible to adjust the threshold of PM (via the app) at which it kicks up? Babsically dust accumulates really quickly on my surfaces, and I figure with the high volume of air this unit moves maybe the auto setting will actually be useful (unlike Winix 5500-2 where it usually stays at 1 out of 4 setting and doesn't address the dust until I leave it on speed 3 out of 4) Thanks so much!
@applisense
2 жыл бұрын
Wow putting me to work on this beautiful Saturday morning - Haha just kidding: 1. Though I haven't tested dB levels of the units (I should probably start doing that), I will say that the noise is comparable to the 211+ auto but there are some slight differences. I still hear a slight motor noise in the 600s, it is much much better than my 400s video. That being said if I had to choose between one or the other for a bedroom, I would choose the 211+ auto over the 600s, as I find the white noise of the 211+ auto to be superior for sleeping. I use the 600s daily and its best suited for my living room. 2. Answered in first answer. 3. I've noticed daily when I use my air fryer it kicks into high gear. Other than that, it's so powerful in my living room that it doesn't ever really ramp up. I suspect that it's primarily a built in laser for particulate level. Great question, I don't know if you can configure the PM levels built into the auto feature. Though I didn't think to try that out, I didn't see that explained in the manual. I've always found that leaving all air purifiers on the highest manual setting (that you can tolerate decibel level wise) is the best from keeping dust from settling on surfaces. Especially if you have a large room, because the lower the manual setting/RPM speed the less square footage it can effectively cover. You could have an insanely powerful air purifier and will still be inevitable that dust will find it's way into your living space no matter what you do.

Even if you start with dirty air and it doesn’t do anything, or worse, start with clean air and it belch out ozone through ionization. What’s to stop it leaving you with bad air and saying “Hey I cleaned it!” It’s a conflict of interest for the machine that’s supposed to impress the user to issue an instruction to the user to be impressed. But in general we’re touching on the same kind of thing. Not saying it’s good to suspect every company is always trying to cheat you and you can never trust anyone.
