UHHH........This particular model is made exactly the way it SHOULD BE made. IT IS MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR PITCHING IN GRASS, AND THAT INCLUDES HEAVY GRASS. This model, just like all their rods in this TP-1 series, are very light, and very well balanced ( better balance than many rods costing twice as much ). They all have typical IM8 sensitivity done RIGHT. You just need to get used to this model. And I can tell ya right now, that these rods are EXTREMELY durable. Unless ya get the rare "lemon", you will NOT be breaking one of these rods. I know, I own 8 of them in various lengths & actions. Been fishing them hard & exclusively for a year now. Not 1 problem or issue. Even the line guides are still perfect. Loved the first 6 so much, I immediately bought 2 more of 'em. I challenge anyone to slap a better rod on the counter top for only a hundred bucks. Honestly, when I first ordered 6 of them at once, I was totally surprised, because these rods are built much better & balanced much better than I was expecting for the price. I couldn't find a single production flaw in any of these 8 rods.

Glad to see other folks like you Ryder, who are also discovering "the best $100 rod in the industry". The only model in their TP-1 series I don't own yet, is the topwater rod, and I'll be buying that one soon too. Many guys are wondering why Lew's is using the "MicroWave line guide system" on the casting models, but what they don't realize, is this line guide system is exactly what's helping these rods to be so well balanced & incredibly light, because these line guides are lighter than most of the very best guides on the market. These guides are also very strong & durable. After a whole year of hard fishing ( 3 to 4 days a week, year round here in Florida ), I've accidentally dropped them, slapped them against trees, posts, even a concrete seawall once, with no damage at all. I've also had these rods doubled over numerous times from strong boat-side runs under the boat from powerful or large fish without a single snap, crackle or pop. All that durability & balance, with great sensitivity. I'm sold.
