Instrument stores, as well. There was a violin store and a piano store down the street from me, across from eachother, when I moved to an apartment downtown which was closer to my college. I learned from my aunt (since she used to go to school there for nursing, back when things were nicer) that the piano shop is owned by a retired mafioso, and the violin shop is owned by his daughter. When I first moved to the city, I tried my best to avoid them. Even before I moved there, driving through that area gave me an ominous feeling. For one, those stores were smack dab in the middle of the hood. They 100% were not getting any kind of business from all the poor, mentally unstable people and junkies who lived in that area. Yet, they always seemed to stay in business, even when all the stores that surrounded them were dilapidated and closed down. It was just plain surreal. You would think they would move locations after the area became so run down, but nope. They just stayed. There were a few times where my grandfather obliviously took me to the piano store to go check out and play the new piano models. Everything about that piano shop, even from the inside, felt wrong. For one, that store was way too small to be a piano warehouse, like the clerks claimed. There was a hall that lead to some backrooms, which they said was used as storage, but.... It just wasn't right. I'm no piano expert, but the hallway looked too narrow, and everything just looked too small for the size of the pianos there. There was also a hallway which veered off to the side. I almost went down this hall, looking for the restroom, but one of the clerks came out in front of me and told me that if I was looking for the restroom, then I walked too far down. She scared me so bad that I jumped and almost peed my pants. She was looking at me as if she was waiting for me before I got there. I got spooked so bad that I forgot to thank her. I just said "ok" awkwardly and walked back. Secondly, the old man who owned the store had an assistant who I assumed was his son. They had the same green eyes and were both tall and super fit. But he never once called him his son, or referred to him as a close family member. Not even once. I thought it was weird. Well, my grandpa loves talking to people, and was having a long conversation with the store owner, so I just sat down and played piano a bit. I was still curious, though, and eavesdropped on their convo. My grandpa was talking about my uncle (his son), and he made a joke about tall genes running in his family. Before my grandpa could even get another word in, the store owner said "That's not my son". Then my grandpa made a remark on how similar they looked and asked how they're related. I heard someone clearing their throat, before I heard the store owner say "We're not". Something about the way he said it made me extremely uncomfortable. He laughed, but in a way that someone would laugh if they had a secret, or if they knew something that you didnt. I kept messing up on the song I was playing after that. And of course, my precious, oblivious grandfather just kept talking as if he didn't notice anything weird. Every time I went there, I felt a sense of dread, and started just lowkey asking my grandpa if we could go out somewhere else. So we started going out to restaurants instead.
@bellebonebag8096
2 жыл бұрын
Also, I never went into the violin store, but I did meet the daughter a few times. Then again, "meet" is a generous word, because she hardly ever talked to me. I tried saying hello a few times, but she just flat out wouldn't repond. She would talk to my grandpa, though, and the only time she ever greeted me was when he introduced me to her. After that, nothin.

Please stay on the Denton County task force, Lewisville P.D., and those city officials responsible for Meredith Mote's unlawful firing and the self-serving corruption behind it. I'm appalled that an Internal Affairs investigation was so obviously concerned more with the department's image than with the horrifying implications of human traffickers getting away with their atrocities. There are clearly massive systemic problems and attitudes within Lewisville's government which need to be immediately investigated by higher governing authorities such as the federal government, as Lewisville city administrators can't be trusted to uphold the most basic of human rights.

But men came in with appointments and went upstairs. At one point I went upstairs to use the restroom. I saw the massage rooms. They were very romantic with flowers, incense and lit candles. I met one of the women that worked there. She was very sweet and upbeat yet matter of fact. She was dressed in normal street clothes. Nothing revealing or seductive. My question is: If this place had something to hide why would they let my friend just out of college have an art show and why would they welcome me a stranger? Not to say that there are not nefarious places like this that should be inspected.
