I have a tip for you. Take off the top hose and have someone start the truck just long enough to see which way the fluid is flowing then shut it off before you make a big mess. To get the maximum benefit from the cooler you want the ATF to flow into the bottom port and out of the top port. If you have it the other way you are only going to get about 15% cooling efficiency. I would think that is how Toyota has theirs setup, but really don't know.

Did you add any additional transmission fluid since the cooler is larger now?

I say another video with a "frame" bracket that holds the cooler. Looks like a lot of room in the back of the new cooler on this one. Could the original cooler have been left in place and added the new cooler on top? Hook the hoses up in series so to speak? Also, the heat is dissipating onto the radiator. Is that significant? I guess the cooler tranny doesn't help the engine but doesn't affect the radiator heat on this type of installation. Strictly the tranny. Any tips for what can I do for my engine heat short of replacing the radiator? I tow a 6K lb 24' travel trailer with a 08 GX. It doesn't like 110-degree days. Nice video by the way.

Gonna do this mod eventually. What trans cooler did you go with? Hayden 678? And why’d you go with the FJ bracket and not the Prado 120? Just wanna know if they’re different. Thanks!

Honestly there really was no reason over the other. I just heard FJ fit and I went with it
