Thanks for sharing! Message to the world: if you grease your lug studs they won’t seize up and you’ll get more accurate rolling torque specs when tightening them down.

Literally about to pull the wheel off my 06 GX for the same thing.... How did you break yours?
@GreggyGTV
4 жыл бұрын
I think mine snapped for 2 reasons, the first being that the shop who installed my tires over torqued them, and the second being that I think the lugs were old and had rusted a bit inside on the threads and kind of fused to the studs. That's why I always use anti-seize after this.

@@GreggyGTV mines just broke too and it was month ago I had to put a used tires for temporarily replacement. Planning to do my struts and then buy all new tires. The guy definitely over torque with their fast air gun being careless. Plus my stud wheels had signs of rust inner part. So now I might just replace all studs just to be safe side and replace all lug nuts. Thanks for the video as this help me with basic overview on this tasks.

anti-seize completely changes the torque of the lugs.

by how much would you estimate? I'm not sure about that. I use it for spark plugs as well for example and still torque to oem specs.

@@GreggyGTV I've read that you can over torque as much as 50% when using anti seize.

Never never never use anti seize compound on lug nuts! Complete no-no!

It seems that people are split on this. I completely understand the concern but I’ve run all of my vehicles for years like this and never had an issue. And they have never rusted, seized or snapped off ever again. The biggest thing is proper torque

What's the point of shooting this video in poor light? Couldn't do it during the daytime or with good shop lights?

@capmidnite Everybody's not posting for subs or likes, dude. I hear you on the lighting, but it was enough light to clearly show you the process, so the mission was accomplished. Grow up, man.
