As someone who bought a '23 Palisade Calligraphy, even though I knew the TX would be out around 8 months later and thought I might prefer the TX... I knew I was making a bit of a gamble. When the TX actually came out, I was pleasantly surprised that I had no regrets getting the Palisade after all. The outside of the TX looks bland, and the inside is easily mistaken for a Grand Highlander. And the TX is really even more than a $10k price premium if you equip the two cars similarly. Some of the driver safety aids on the TX even require an ongoing subscription to keep functional... whereas they're free for life on the Palisade (as they should be). Hearing this review say the Palisade actually drives and rides better is just the icing on the cake! The only reason I might prefer the TX is because it'd be nice to have a hybrid, or even a PHEV. But getting a PHEV in the TX skyrockets the price to around $80k... and that buys a whole lot of gas! Plus the all new Palisade (with hybrid powertrain) is apparently only a year away from coming out.

This is nice in stop n go traffic in Vegas and cali. The in dash car charger has been really nice I can charge just about anything on it .. phone , watch , headphones and it's always there never lost and no cords. This Suv has excellent control and braking with lots of power when on the turbo mode.. I can change it so I can be speedy or save fuel on fuel saving mode. This one's a no-brainer. The TX feels like Lexus rushed it out just to get out their 3-row. The interior is just not special while the exterior didn't go far at all distinguishing it from the GHL. It just has a cheapness look to it. On the other hand, the Palisade since it came out looks more expensive than it actually is. None of the major Hyundai recalls have affected the Palisade and the engine has been problem free though it could use better fuel efficiency. If you're getting the Palisade, especially in Calligraphy, go for the beige interior with the navy blue trim. It looks and feels way more expensive than the 53K suggested price and wouldn't look out of place among vehicles costing 10 to 20K more. No surprise they're (and Telluride) still selling strong going to 6 years, and with an all-new Palisade coming likely early 2025, you can probably get some good deals on the outgoing model.
@Threxx

The TX does feel rushed, but it makes no sense how it could have been, considering dealers and consumers have been asking Lexus for a non-truck-based 3 row SUV for 20 years now. 10 years ago it was downright laughable that they still didn't have one. The RX L that came out felt like the rushed band-aid to fix their embarrassing oversight.. but then 7-8 years later their "real" answer still feels rushed.

I’ll take palisade over either any day of the week unless reliability is your end-all, be-all. I like this review a lot, but it would have been better without the rant at 3:26 about your viewers. You can literally do this for any luxury comparison. BMW, Mercedes etc, can you justify the higher prices of any? I don’t know why most auto channels dislike Lexus so much and always use them as a comparison. They need to get over their bias’s and just know what Lexus is and understand they don’t use the latest and greatest and aren’t trying to be something they aren’t, they are an established brand and understand what we Americans want. Edmunds of all channels should figure out why people buy Lexus and not make videos to persuade people to buy other brands, Toyota/lexus speak for themselves. Stop hating on them, people will stop watching your channel. We all know why we buy them, their sales speak for themselves. Your’e only hurting your channel by talking negative about their quality and engines etc.

Honestly wouldn't buy either. The Palisade is starting to feel dated, and the multiple Hyundai recalls are a huge red flag. The TX is too expensive for what you're getting, and there are plenty of cheaper Toyota/Lexus products that have proven reliability and offer the same features. If someone keeps their cars for 10 years or more, the TX is a no-brainer, and it will hold its value better. Kia/Hyundai reliability had really improved in the mid-2010s compared to its history, but then they sabotaged their own reputation in the last 10 years with recalls and not installing theft-deterrents.
