Good review. I'm starting to come around to OLED's. The fear factor of burn in kept me from considering one but my viewing habits should reduce my odds of having it. Having said that, I bought a Sony 930e not long ago and I'm very pleased with it. Plus at a much better price than the B8. But will consider an OLED down the road. By time I need a new tv, OLED's may be on the way out tho. Microled's are coming it appears.

I wish you guys spoke more to motion handling, especially with broadcast sporting events. I don't buy a TV to look at a cool closeup of a frog's face with colorful paint dripping down his nose. I buy a TV to watch everything from movies to sports, and motion handling is far more important than if the color green the TV is producing is the exact same color green that the actor was wearing when the scene was filmed...... More motion handling in the future please.

The wall mounting holes on these oleds are terrible. So low. They should have more options near the top or middle so it doesnt mouth to high on an already mount that was used for an LCD tv that has the holes in the middle of the set.

I would recommend the b8 since they both have the same picture quality. The c8 only has a better processor so the interface is faster, but the processor in the b8 is already very good and in my opinion it is not worth the price gap.

Our main review was published in October on AVForums.com and we publish to KZitem after that. There has been a delay posting, but the TV was only released to retailers in the Summer, so not a year old (it was only announced at CES in January). LG will be announcing new models at CES next week, but those will not likely get released until May or later in the UK. Thanks for your comments.

Good review, thank you. Can't decide between this and the C8, the main point being if the C8 is worth the extra money for the Alpha9 chipset. I do prefer the stand on the C8.
@darthniloc6099

I got the C8 over the B8 for the same reasons, plus the C8 gets brighter in hdr around 980nits on the 2% and 10% window compared to the B8 which is around 760nits. I also find the new chip is better at motion interpolation almost as good as Sony's.

Surely you're not using the same demo videos you've shown in your uploads from 3 years ago to test modern TVs???
@avforums
5 жыл бұрын
No, we don't test the TVs with this footage. We use the footage, which we shot ourselves, for KZitem videos as we will not get a copyright strike. We only use the odd movie clip in our videos to avoid getting copyright strikes. This is annoying as we would like to show off some real film and TV content in our videos, but can't. For our actual review testing, we use a whole host of test clips, for some, we have sat with the filmmakers and know what they should look like. But can't show this in KZitem videos for copyright reasons. I hope that helps.

even if they did. so what? footage is footage and looks how it looks. If it has proper “specs” for your test it doesn’t matter if it was shot last week or 10 yrs. Only thing that changes is the TV and theoretically newer tvs should display a better picture. Its Dumb to test a new modern tv with new footage designed to take full advantage of the target tv.

Apparently this TV does not support 1440p. What does that mean for gaming? Will I simply be unable to set my games to 1440p? Of course I am planning to set my games to 4K but I am not sure, if I will be able to get consistent performance on 4K resolution. It would be nice to know, if I could fall back to 1440p when it comes down to it. This all might sound like stupid questions to some but I am honestly baffled by the fact that such a cutting edge TV does not support 1440p while still supporting 1080p.

. Micro Led is 4 or 5 years away, you are a moron if you think OLED tech won’t improve before then. LG has a new manufacturing plant opening THIS year that is going to have a new process designed to limit and improve burn in. In 5 years it’ll probably be “gone.” and under $1,000
