JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: LG frigerator model LRFXS2503 showed "CL E" on screen of panel and both frige and freezer off.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Unplugged power briefly last night.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: But after about five hours shows same "CL E".
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: unplugged power twenty minutes now, plugged power back in and now the screen shows 0 37 degrees.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: What does "CL E" mean?
Pearl Wilson: Assistant: How old is your LG fridge?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Since Oct.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: 2020.
Pearl Wilson: Assistant: How long has this been going on with your LG refrigerator?
Pearl Wilson: Assistant: What have you tried so far?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Started last night.
Pearl Wilson: Assistant: Anything else we should know to help you best?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I dont know.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: Hi, my name is* am your personal HVAC/APPLIANCE Expert on JustAnswer.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: First of all I would like to thank you for using JustAnswer I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your equipment today.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: I know first hand how frustrating that can be if you give me a few moments I will provide a response to you on your issue.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: OK.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: That is weird and not an error code I am aware of, can you send a photo?
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: CL may be child lock, I will check on that
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I cannot take photo of error code since it disappeared after I unplugged and re-plugged in the power.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: This has happened at least twice.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: Is the unit currently cooling?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I think so.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: CL is certainly child lock.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: We have not used child lock button, to my knowledge.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: if it said E CH that is completely different
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: E CH = refrigerant leakage
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: No the order on the panel screen was CL E .
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: there's only one other possibility, perhaps you saw C1 E
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Perhaps but two people read CL E .
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: C1 E is a communication error between the LCD display and the dispenser http:/prntscr.com/vycmo6
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: on lg, the only CL message would concern the child-lock it had to have been C1 (the 1 can look like a lower case l)
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: We both saw CL E two times.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: had not even touched panel for any thing in the meantime.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: I think it was c1 E, that would make more sense.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: the 1 can look like an L There really is no CL E error.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: It's not a thing
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: Does your unit have SmartThinQ?
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: You can run it in diagnostic mode if so
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: How can I know?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: There is a "Smart Grid Wi-Fi" button.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Is that what SmartThink is?
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: That's not it I just checked the model number.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: I don't see that capability.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: In any case, if the unit is cooling now, it may have been a glitch If it continues throwing any C1 error there could be an issue with the LCD display or wiring connections between the dispenser and display.
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: Let me know if it happens and we can go from there.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: Are you saying I should just wait and watch it and take a photo of it if it appears again then text you on this same text string?
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: Correct
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: The only way such a communication error explains cessation of cooling is if it failed while trying to display some other error code about cooling failure.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: I'm talking about your idea that it may have been C1 instead of the CL we saw.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: are we finished with this text session?
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: In case I have to contact you again, my name is*
Tamar D.: Master Tradesman: Thank you Gary, just send me a message and I will respond as soon as I can after I see it.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: This is Gary Blake.
JustAnswer Customer from San Antonio, TX: It happened again so I will send you a photo of "CL E" error.
