Great video. This saved us a call out so I could fix the top fridge fan. Seeing how to disassemble the entire top unit was a life saver. Thank you!!

Im a HVACR Tech and Appliance Repair Tech. Haven't tapped into sealed system repairs yet ie...(Compressors, Evaporator Coils). I've been leaning towards starting because I get alot of calls where the fridge is either leaking or compressor grounded. Your videos have been alot of help to better understand refrigerators‼️

Excellent video. From my 35 years of experience doing this line of work and been a trainer. 200 psi is to much. 120 to 150 is just enough. Everything else was a great job.

I'm an HVAC-R/Refrigerator repair and maintenance tech and I love this video. No word of a lie, I'm pretty detail oriented and I like the fact that you give attention to detail especially when it comes to refrigeration.

Do you usually replace the evaporator when replacing the Linear compressor on the LG refrigerator? I read the evaporator is prone to pitting and will create excessive pressure to the compressor and damage it. Therefore I understand both components ( evaporator & compressor)must be replaced together. Is this true?

So the answer is yes and no. The cost goes up. And most people won’t do it because of price. The capillary has a little bump where it enters the evaporator. That is where it has issued as it is prone to have a restriction. What I do is cut it past it and put it back to save or try to save the part

THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! Have you also had to replace 3-way valves in addition to the evaporator? Specifically wondering about situations AFTER a linear compressor is replaced.

We have had to replace the 3 way valve in the past but usually due to failure

What do you think about air conditioning fe split, multisplit ? Do you work with air conditioning ? Could you recommend something? Is it possible to assembly units from used parts ? Do you know technics to fill up the AC system? And do you know how much will we need a refrigerant to fill up the system? As we don't know how much refrigerant we need. Because it is home made system air conditioning. Greetings from Poland.

Do you have EPA license, how can you release the refrigerant in the air? It's illegal...................

Which gas did you use? My oxy/acety would have destroyed that line in the same amount of time you heated it.

Is it common to replace the compressor and evaporator on this unit? I've already replaced the compressor and still have a leak somewhere. Also do you have to use flux when you're brazing? I might have missed you applying it. Thanks
@appliancerepair420
Жыл бұрын
Yes flux is needed on the compressor to condenser side (high side). And on the filter drier basically where copper meets steal. To find the leak you need. To pressurize the system and use soap to look for leaks check all brazed areas
@justoalma9585

No flux from to copper to copper. Only steel to copper. Also you can use the blue stick and no flux at all. Nitrogen pressure to high. 90 psi is just enough.

Does anyone still make one with a single evaporator in the freezer? I had a kitchenaid like this the coil in the refrigerator kept freezing if I set the temp below 38F. My food was about 40-41 nothing really ever got cold food would spoil. It had a max cool feature would go for 24 hours get it cold the thing sucked.

They do make them. I’ve seen them but you just have to look at the specs. Best thing to do when buying is look at the model number and Google the refrigerator to see what is in it as a lot of people at the store don’t know
