@@lukewheeler2361 valid point. I have tried gliding a mouse on an Artisan Zero, the flat stitching and the sticky base is insanely good. It's huge that other companies are starting to use the same base that artisan is. The base of the artisan pads is half of the reason why I dont mind spending so much for those pads. You dont realize how good it is until you use it. No other pads base comes close and I've tried many pads. It sticks to your desk but doesnt leave any residue or anything
@grant5864

Honestly I've tried well over a dozen different mousepads and I've never had an issue with the base of a mousepad sliding in actual gaming use. The artisan base is great (you can tell when just trying to "peel" it off the desk) but it's pretty overkill. Maybe the material of my desk helps, but that's just my two cents.

If you end up trying the madcatz glide, let me know if you feel the same way too. The base also is nonslip like the artisans and it has great stopping power while also being fast. I'm probably crazy, because QCK heavy feels premium to me, at least compared to Saturn, mostly because of the soft base and subjectively, less abrasive surface, despite widely being considered as a throw-away pad. On the other hand, I ended up maining Saturn because QCK, after being exposed to slightest humidity increase in the room, starts gripping your arm to the same extreme extent that Amber Heard clings to money.

It also wears down quickly, frays, and develops really bad slow spots. Those are the reasons IMO its dismissed as a pad, not its tactile feel

I've heard alot of pros actually use that pad but like the other comment said it wears out quickly so you have to keep buying new ones but all I've heard are good things about it. It's up there with some of the best for a few months then it needs to be replaced from what I've read.

How big of a difference is the soft vs extra soft?
