Hey Dan (and others having the settings issue), for your L-Connect settings to save you have to go into your BIOS and make sure constant USB power is on. The controller needs constant power even in sleep/shutdown. If it still doesn't work after that, try a different USB header for the controller. Some motherboards only hold power on certain headers so check your manual! Hope this helps :)
@DanKamYouKnow

Thank you for the comment! I did read that there should be a settings adjustment in the BIOS that I can adjust but I find it a tad annoying that I we have to do this to retain settings. I will try the other USB header on my board first and see if it works. Going to pin your comment so other people see it. Thanks for the information!

STOP!!! INCORRECT INFO!!! In general, this video was fantastic. It was well edited, very informative, and extremely helpful in my new build with these Uni Fan SL-Infinity 120 fans. HOWEVER... There's one fatal flaw here that I haven't seen addressed in the comments or spoken about in later videos and that's your incorrect info @1:57 on the airflow of the fans. The side with the brackets is NOT the intake. It's the exhaust. The other side, sans brackets, is the intake. This is demonstrated in JayzTwoCents' own video of the fans @16:10, when he shows a piece of paper being blown across the workbench by the BRACKET SIDE of the fans. If you addressed this mistake in a later video and I missed it, my apologies. But, like I said, I looked at your video on the reverse blade version of these fans, plus went through all of the comments in this video, and didn't see anything to correct it, so I wanted to bring it up here. Still a good video, but that piece of misinformation really needs to be corrected. Thanks.
@DanKamYouKnow

I see what you mean but the fact is, if you see the spokes side of the fan in your case, they will be intake. In the case of my Y60, my side fans are intake and the top fans (showing the mirror), are exhaust.

the 1-4 selection on each color scheme is for fans 1 through 4 of each daisy chain not each section of fans. so if you select only 2 of those for a 3 fan chain that is why one is dark. The chain for the radiator was fine since it was only 2 fans.

The timing on discovering your video review was helpful. I was looking into Lian Li fans to replace my Corsair fans because the white LED color has worn itself down to a yellowish opaque color for keeping it for 2 years. Knowing that the Lian Li doesn't save the color settings from their software tool and resets to default every time it boots up is a deal breaker. I hope there is a software fix to it, and would consider to buy it.
@DanKamYouKnow
2 жыл бұрын
I am hoping they fix it too because the program auto boots, minimized to the task tray. It will only load my previous settings when I physically open the program up, but not when it auto boots to task tray. Seems like a software glitch and should be sorted out. When it is, these fans will be unmatched, except in the longevity department, that we shall see.

That may be an issue with your BIOS because the fans should come on to whatever fan curve each fan header is set to. But to answer your question, sure, you can use an fan header. Awesome review! Its what I was looking for since Im building in the exact same case. My question is if you had a chance to build with the SL120 V2 fans. It's either the V2's or these INF fans on a 280mm radiator on the side as intake. You mentioned the noise was fine @1600, but have been hearing different views on the sound, some saying it gets loud. So was wondering if you could do a push-pull with the Lian Li's at a low RPM on the inside and outer fans (Be quiet Silent Wings 4?) doing the heavy lifting.
@DanKamYouKnow
Жыл бұрын
The sound really depends on the case and that persons threshold for noise. Some people will say fans are loud if they’re audible at all, but I’m more acceptable and have a higher threshold for noise because I know PC’s aren’t quiet. Your push pull idea might work but I don’t like the push and pull fans to have too much of a varying fan speed

OK had to stop in and hopefully help others with Lconnect 3 being unresponsive. For me i had to unhook my monitor USB cable to computer. The Gigabyte FI32U has a hub with soundcard, i had the sound card disabled thinking that would help, nope. I tried different versions of Lconnect and none would be responsive, always click on something then about 30 sec to minute later it would change. Now its working great. Also i fixed Snowrunner being unresponsive when alt-tabbing out or clicking out of snowrunners window. Hi Dan, I have a question about hooking up a AIO, Do you connect the fan controller to the CPU Fan Header? I asked Lian Li support but they couldn't answer me? Also would a USB Splitter be able to see both controllers?
@DanKamYouKnow
2 жыл бұрын
What AIO are you referring to? Also, what 2 controllers are you using? As far as the Lian Li fan controller, it doesn't have to be plugged into the motherboard. I explain it in the video but you can use the USB header that plugs into the controller, to plug into an available USB header on your motherboard. OR you can utilize the fan header connection that comes with the controller.

The fan max is where I'm confused because I have the sl inf 120 fans (infinity) and it says in manual when sync to mb and set 100% bright, it only supports up to 8 infinity fans on the controller. So does that mean I need two controllers for 9 fans (3 sets of 3 fans connected together)? I have these on a rad for new build. Am I going to have cooling issues knowing they won't be running until I have windows installed?
@DanKamYouKnow

Are you using L Connect 3 to control the fan speeds? Or do you have them plugged into motherboard headers? The controller can support up to 16 fans ( 4 per port and there is 4 ports total ). No, I have had these fans in numerous rads in different configurations and they work really well against rads as static pressure fans.

Dan, thanks for the video and the demo for fan speeds. Regarding fan speeds, can you set individual fan curves for each separate fan? You showed that you could do that for each fan group (top, front, etc.) But can you do that for each individual fan in each grouping/cluster? Or does every fan connected to the L connect fan hub have to have the same custom curve? Thanks.

Case plays a huge factor in acoustics but under about 900RPM, these fans are dead quiet. From 900-1400, you can hear a slight whir and anything over is definitely audible. With a less aggressive fan curve, these fans are barely audible. If you want dead quiet, go Noctua or lower your fan curves.
