Because those are some of the strongest manufacturing qualities of the company. They used to make robots, after all. But the power source? It has General Atomics written all over the place. Taking as a reference how some of the Nuclear Power Plants they used to made tended to malfunction (at least some of those provided to Vault-Tec) is like a signature of the company, and how so many of their products tended to fail, with the exception of the AER9 Laser Rifle and the latest iteration of Mr. Handy (which I believe was a joint venture with RobCo to, ironically)

I for some reason thought they had simply attacked and took over the electrical grid in alaska to subsidize its garbage ass power reactor, cause like it did have one, it just wasnt very stable

Pretty sure Liberty Prime was a reference for Metal Gear A 2-legged Giant robot capable of launching nukes wherever and whenever wanted Yet as metal Gear showed itself, those kind of robots would be pointless, break its legs and it becomes useless, hence the Broken Steel dlc in fallout 3 where Prime gets easily obliterated

General Atomics is a real company, and they make the Reaper drones and a bunch of other ones, they also run experiments with fusion and a bunch of other stuff.

the world was suffering from energy problems and a lack of portable dense energy storage. youd think theyd have taken that into account

Liberty primes biggest problem was Bethesda, hopefully that's at an end with the assimilation of Beth with micro.

Wait they made the robot before they even knew of a power source to activate it?
